Worsley felt an overpowering connection to Shackleton and his Antartic expedition. It is based on a true story and riveting, even if I can't emphasize with his obsession to conquer Antartica. The audiobook is well-narrated and sweeps you into Worsley (and Shackleton's) harrowing journeys.

Cathy is starting Bottle of Lies: The Inside Story of the Generic Drug Boom
Good information given that many generic drugs mostly come from India and elsewhere. Outsourcing medications keeps the costs down but also increases the risk of substandard drugs.

Stone's observations and reflections suggest a very different person than I assumed from watching his movie. Specifically, his service in Vietnam colored his life and career. That backstory behind making films is always interesting to me, even if biased.

The research that went into this book is brilliant and recreates that era and those personalities. Knowing that a pair of shoes were purchased ($2000 back in the 90s!) simply because it was what the character in the novel wore is insightful--knowing this kind of detail is something the audience would ever see or appreciate is telling. I'm curious to see how this wraps up.

This story put me inside a family dealing with the incomprehensible. Could you raise a child, can you live and love someone and not know what they are capable of? The practical details felt authentic, the finances, the effect of the legal system on an experienced successful member of that system. I appreciated the observations of living life in a small town in Massachusetts, the mundane details of going to a (pretent

I'm reading Paul Theroux after a gap of many years. This book combines observation, people from various fields, and his own stories. While Theroux will never be a cheery read, he is observant and insightful.

Intriguing. The author forwards convincing theories of how analyzing enough raw data (from Facebook and other sources) can predict behavior. The author also suggests how some rationalize and hunker down when confronted by the irrational, nonsensical utterances of our President.
The bizarre story connects Brexit, African politics, and the United States. Is it all true?

I found myself hooked on this political thriller some fifty years after it was published. It is a novel involving politics, France, Algeria, Intelligence Agencies circa 1960, technology and the mindset of another era.
The good guys, at least some of them, are also admired - the ability to plough through thousands of forms for a nugget of intelligence for example.

Good book about the nascent science of profiling and behavioral psychology developed by the FBI. The series on Amazon was also excellent.

Surprising readable and approachable. While I wasn't particularly interested in his early life at first it went quickly. The section on his methods and techniques was fascinating and revealed his mind-set and methods.
