Took a bit to get into this one, but I really like it now. It's very poignant, fresh, aromatic. Like an orange in a book. New York City comes alive, and I remember why I love NYC so much in it's pages. I feel like I can smell linseed oil and warm wet asphalt while reading it.

Intriguing concept. Very cute set-up so far, I really like the way the plot is laid out.

For a booktok book, I'm pleasantly surprised this is an easy read and not problematic (yet, anyways).

I don't really know if the suicidal ideation adds much to this book right now. I think it's glossed over too quickly, Phoebe gets over it and suddenly stops having it too easily, and having deep depression is possible without that element. I think the depressive state was more than enough to communicate depression without that element involved for shock value.

It's giving American Dirt and I hate it in the best way lmao
