I am slightly lost in the worldbuilding rn sinne there hasn’t been a full explanation of what Fort, Holder, Weyr and all that means. The book is meant for readers who are already familiar with that Lingo but I hope I can figure it out. I am liking Mireya and Orlith tho. And I’m liking Moreta’s banter with Alessan

Im very intrigers actually. The first page kinda scared me, astronomi has never been my strong suit But I Actually foundation the Rundown of Pern’s history very interesting. It’s Fun to see the old Style of ’worldbuilding first’ irl, and it surprisingly worked well for me . I’m excited to learn more about Mccaffrey’s approach to dragons

This whole Chapter Actually had me emotional. Especially the monologues between the Nightmare and Elspeth.
She won’t die I don’t think but what will her degeneration be? From the hint in the previous chapter I’m guessing it has something to do with her voice?

So the overly expressive parasite is in the same body as the piano playing one, and they rotate who is in charge. That’s interesting

I find it so interesting how the parasites don’t sit facing each other during meetings. It further drives home how non human they are and I appreciate that the author has thought about these small details
