I feel like I jumped to the middle of a story. Many unanswered questions.

This one is slow. Hard to get into

Listening to the audiobook narrated by Mary Jane Wells. She really brings the story to life. Great story so far. It’s a little slow.

Verity is secret service. She was lured to the party bc her dead husband was accused of treason.
Story is still very slow and not much is happening. Hard to keep all the characters apart.

This is hard to get into. I’m reading the book and listening to the audiobook. Ik this author has a slower start.

Emma is very naive. She wants to pursue something with Pearce but is ignoring the fact he drinks way too much. He also told her there are things he will never tell her. He gets beat up about something that happened in his past and he won’t tell her. Red flags. I am mad the author is pushing this relationship

I’m SO tired of the poetry and Shakespeare quotes. They add nothing to the story.

What is the point of the reprobates besides page filler?

I’m just not into it

I feel like the author is trying to push us to like Pierce as the main love interest. I just do not like him for Emma. He is too secretive. They’ve been friends a while and he still will not open up. He also seems like the typical restless artist.

I am not team Pierce. He has too many secrets and he’s a wanderer. I really liked the chemistry between fmc and Roland. It felt like more than friends undercurrent. Islington has eeked Roland out. I like the banter between him and fmc. I think Islington would love Emma as she is and would let her have her way. Even keeping Lapis house after marriage. Possibly even staying there.

Much better than book 1. So far I like Roland more than Mr. Pierce.

I am listening to the audiobook. I hate the narrator’s voice.

I’m over the fmc thinking she is being used. She has nothing to offer. What are people using you for? Her anger has gone on for too long.
I only understand why Lex likes her. No idea why any of the other guys like her.

I’m really starting to hate the fmc. She complains about being poor and not having money for anything but she smashes someone’s phone and breaks Lex’s window all because she is throwing a temper tantrum. Any help she gets she lashes out at people.

The writing style is strange to me. The word usage is weird. The fmc was thinking about mmc’s 🍆. Then she goes off on talking about 🍆’s and sex. The fmc’s brother is described as gay with long nails and stilettos. But a couple paragraphs later he asks her to watch her nephew. I assumed it was his kid. Hard to believe he would have a kid dressed like a woman and is into men.

So far I am not hooked. It’s ok.

The movie and broadway adaptations are better than the book. The book is hard to get through.

Tried audiobook. The male voice actor swallows so loudly. It’s making it hard to listen to his reading every time he swallows.

Giving this another try since I don’t remember anything about it

The author uses the word “ash” a lot. A different descriptor needs to be used. Half the time it doesn’t even make sense with the story.

This book is starting to feel like it was written with AI. It has that repetitive, stilted style that is AI uses.

Sabrina said she lost her baby. What she meant to say is that she aborted or killed her baby. She did not lose it.

Why is Katie more mad at Sabrina than Apollo? He’s the one what made the marriage vows. What does she think, Sabrina forced herself on him and he had no choice but to sleep with her.

They go to the movie there in another “town”. They supposedly live in NY. There are so many people. This is not some small town that everyone keeps bumping into each other.

Mmc and fmc see Carol at the movie theater. Carol read the messages but Tyler gave them to her. What kind of brother embarrasses his sister like that? Tyler is to blame not some scorned coworker.

Apollo is a weak a$$ pu$$y. He acts hard but turns into a bumbling whimp whenever he has to man up in front of his wife. He acts like a woman.

Why is Sabrina still at Katie & Apollo’s house after Katie finds out? Why sleep over? She is roommates with Trilogy.

Why did Katie destroy Sabrina’s stuff but not Apollo’s. She only destroyed the tv, but everything of Sabrina’s. Apollo was her husband who cheated and instigated everything. Why go after only Sabrina’s stuff.
