New audio book bc I had 2 one hour and 20 minute car rides today

I read this book yearsssss ago, and I remembered being obsessed with it in the way it was written, enough so that I wanted to write my own book. And then I did. I wrote a couple chapters, showed it to my 6th grade English teacher who was so impressed with me and encouraged me to keep going. But then someone stole my handwritten copy and I was heartbroken. found the book again recently and felt like rereading!

I figured it out. The constant recapping of facts we already know is taking me out of the narrative when I’d rather just stay in the present moment with the main character.

I maintain my assessment that I keep getting fed redundant information. It’s just like — why are we repeating this AGAIN?! Also couldddd really use some more world building. Like majorly. But the relationships with other characters are shaping out to be better and more interesting than before, as is the romance — way less Stockholmy so yay!

I feel like I keep getting given redundant information, the pacing is slow too and nothing feels quite developed yet.

This is setting up like a Stockholm syndrome book, I’m really hoping that that’s not how it turns out

God these characters are INSUFFERABLE. What on earth is this book.
