This author is Canadian and the way she wrote this scene to cause drama as if these characters aren’t Ontario residents and as a minor his insulin is FULLY covered by OHIP+ (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) and its really taking me out of the story because 1) it feels like she is writing this way to appease her American audience, and 2) as if their uncle wouldn’t be ensuring his nephews insulin is paid
