I started this last weekend while doing my X-Files Lego, but it’s not working out very well. I’m going to give it until 10% and then I’m out.

Sudden urge to re-read The Count of Monte Cristo. Big commitment, there. Probably would have to do a chapter or two at night. Should I do it?

Forgot my book at work again last night so I started this. Really liking it. The other books by this author never interested me but she sure can write.

To be honest, I’m sort of expecting a DNF.

Main character is learning about capitalism . . . even a person who has been living under a totalitarian dictatorship knows it's a bad idea for people's wellbeing. This is an extremely relevant book but only nerds will read it.

Tried a bunch of audiobooks last night and none of them stuck. So now I’m busting out the big guns. (Also the library is about to take this back.)

Do I want to DNF this? There is absolutley nothing wrong with it. If I would have marathoned the whole thing it would be done now, but I stopped and now the idea of going back to hang out with this character is not appealing. Maybe I'll give it until the "boyfried" dies. (Not a spoiler—it's in the blurb.)

The mental load on this one is a bit heavy, but I'm finally at a place where I can just sink into it.

I always forget Royce is the small one and Hadrian the big one. I feel like it should be the other way around.

I love how they are always meeting genuinely good people along the road. Warms my lil heart.

And relatedly, young Royce . . . sucks. A lot. Major character growth from the events of this book to the beginning of the original trilogy.

Off to a great start. Things are feeling very *familiar* IYKWIM.

Living for the Gwen storyline. It's like Legends and Lattes but with sex workers. Also, not so much with the cozy.

Sometimes it's just so nice to read a non-complicated (but well-written) adventure fantasy. Also, Sullivan seems to have really nailed the prequel. Which is so rare!

I missed Hadrian more than I thought!

I'm really into this. I'll probably finish it in one go the next time I pick it up.

This is most likely going to be a 3.75 star book. I think it's because I'm not connecting to the characters at all, but the story is interesting.
