Pausing for now

Going to have to pause this one until I’m no longer pregnant and hormonal. Too many tears so far 😭😭

Rereading before I watch the show 💜

Will come back to this one once I’ve read the first two. There seems to be a backstory between the two MCs that I’m missing

I’m struggling to get through, and I think I’m just not in the right mood this week because the book itself is kind of interesting. I need to pause and come back when I have the bandwidth to devote to the series.

Chapter 6

I will definitely come back to this book later, but it feels like it may be too heavy right now for me. I’ve really enjoyed the writing in the first 5 chapters and look forward to finishing this later.

Wow I am so bored. There really wasn’t a lot that happened in the first 8 chapters to suck me into the story. Beck bought m the company Margo worked for because she didn’t answer his calls. He basically strong arms her into agreeing to be his assistant/fake Fiance. That’s it. That’s the whole first 50ish pages.

Maybe one day I’ll come back to this, but who knows.

Wow I cannot get through this. It’s bad and so boring. BookTok/Instagram got me again ☹️

Both characters are so immature. I get Myla has past trauma, but my god, it’s not hard to tell your spouse what’s wrong when they ask. I get he should know because she’s tried to talk to him before. She’s frustrated he never listened to her, but when she has his full attention she decides just to be petty and tell him he should know. I’m surprised Ryot hasn’t caved and signed the papers. I would by now.

Chapter 9

Just eh. Felt like nothing was really happening in the story and no actual development of the characters. Normally I wouldn’t be concerned at this point but it isn’t even 250 pages.

Just eh. Probably won’t finish

No real development of the characters. Nothing that shows how they are falling in love or getting to know one another. I’m honestly bored.

Chapter 15 - DNF
May come back to it but honestly feels like it’s dragging so much. I don’t mind a good enemies to lovers but this one just seemed to be repetitive. H was an asshole for no reason and h waivers between standing up to him and cowering.

DNF - 3rd person really hard to get into. Writing style is strange

Insta love. Not feeling it. h is a little odd - can’t quite put my finger on why I don’t care for her
