I can see why this is compared to Oceans 11 (or Oceans 8, I guess, though I’ve never seen that one), but I’m finding it a bit… off. Small things are not working for me, and seem off or out of place. I’m 60% in, so I’m hoping it starts really moving soon, because all the prep and buildup is a little tedious.

Date, for sure, and tells a lot more than shows, but compelling so far.

The main Navidson Record narrative is getting more interesting, finally, but I’m getting really annoyed by Johnny’s novel-length rambling drinking/drugs/sex/fighting/pretty girl stories bullshit notes. So boring to me, and I could not care less about any of that.

Well, that was enlightening and heartbreaking. The coded letter was intense, but what really broke me was the request for luggage, and the hope it represented that could never be realized. How sad. But enlightening regarding the reliability of the JT contributions.
