It is possible to write a perfect grammatical and linguistic analysis of
a poem by Goethe without coming anywhere near its essence... The
same goes for the difference between a dictionary and a poem in the
same language... Man is like a painting, a mosque, or a poem rather than the quantity or quality of the material of which he is made. Man is more than all the sciences together can say about him.

Nevertheless, the Qur'an is life, not literature. Islam is a way of living rather than a way of thinking. The only authentic comment of the Qur'in can be life, and as we know, it was the life of Prophet Muhammad. Islam in its written form (the Qur'an) may seem disorderly, but in the life of Muhammad, it proves itself to be a natural union of love and force, the sublime and the real, the divine and the human.
