i remember being really confused about mr rochester last time i read jane eyre, but i kind of love him now - the (banter???) between him and jane is very enjoyable to read

wouldn’t it be crazy if they formed a romantic attachment at some point in this book

wait but this chapter actually made me emotional what 😭

jane eyre (the book and the character) is absolute peak

books and movies/shows like these make me realise what a great, functional childhood i had

two living, loving parents who have legit jobs???? i grew up in luxury apparently

i read this book a few years ago, but i remember absolutely nothing about it lol

amanda is such a well written character, the way her trauma and mental state is depicted is SO WELL WRITTEN AND COMPELLING OMG

her innocence is killing me, like i don’t want anything bad to happen to her but it’s WW2 and she’s jewish so womp womp to my dreams 😭

ok this book is actually so good so far, i predict it will leave me a wreck by the end of it yayyyyy

the style, writing and characters are 🤌🤌

the poem being placed alongside hay hay as his life falls apart is aaaaaaa SO GOOD!!! tho i actually worry about maam collins because how can she write trauma so well 😭

i eagerly await the movie later this year!!!!!!

rated a solid-ish 3 stars. again, great premise but it lacked a certain something. i feel for me to fall in love with a historical fiction book it has to bring new perspectives to an event that changes the way i view it, and this book feels a bit of the same-old ww2 fighting against germany story.

that being said, it was still a nice light read and i liked it overall :)

thoughts: not bad, interesting concept of forging paintings to resist the germans. not really a top tier book for me, tbh it’s kinda cliche (especially what i just read: “they can destroy our country but we can fight back in out own small way ‼️‼️ like i’m rolling my eyes over here lol)

i guess it’s hard to compare to all the light we cannot see, that book left me a wreck hahaha

part one finished - intriguing, i think it’ll grow on me. some of the dialogue and inner monologue is a bit clunky but it has a good premise :)

finally after nearly a year i’m gonna read this, at last it’s time to read a book grounded in reality lol

i shall give a rating of 3.5 stars. all in all i enjoyed this series, the story and characters were well fleshed out, and there were some enjoyable moments. the politics, like cardan, bored me lol and i never got super attached to the characters but it was a fun read :)

and thank goodness they actually got a happy ending, it was looking a bit rough there for a bit hahaha

welp i’m crying from this smut scene and it’s not good tears 💀

i am very uncomfortable like should i leave the room srry for spying on you both having sex lol

cardan and literally every other character in this series are just the embodiment of mixed signals??? like he goes “you’re a dirty mortal liar” in one sentence and then “DONT TOUCH HER SHES MY WIFE” like wtf man just pick a side 💀

first scene back with cardan and he asks her to strip 😭😭😭

i still haven’t decided if i love this immortal fellow or want to throw him off the nearest bridge

if cardan doesn’t die or land in jude’s arms by the end of this book i will be very upset

the trilogy is complete !! !! !!

it is such a step up from the first two - rated 4.4 stars because it still had a love triangle ew but katniss makes it worth it with her inner monologue and trauma :)
