SORRY BUT THIS ENDING WAS SO GOOD WHAT

i give this book 4.5 stars rounded up to five, originally it was four because i can’t do physics to save my life but i considered that a skill issue on my end lol

that ending was genuinely so hopeful and beautiful and i love the bittersweet tones throughout the book it was so good AND 10/10 BROMANCE WE LOVE GRACE AND ROCKY

i’m falling head over heels with an alien called rocky that was NOT on my 2026 bingo card 😭

rocky and grace are gonna be in my top duos in fiction for sure

this book has just the right level of comedy and existential dread, it’s scratching an itch in my brain

ok but him panicking thinking “oh no i like kids” to the relief of “OH THANK GOD I’M A TEACHER” is comedy gold hahaha amnesia is the best

i have a premonition this book may be the beginning of my next hyperfixation but let’s just continue for now lol

yes i’m reading this so i can watch the movie, yes i want to understand why markiplier is gonna crawl out of an ocean of blood into ryan gosling’s arms and yes i’m reading this when three huge ass assignments are due tomorrow 😭🥀

great book, i give it 4 stars - only negative was that ironically, hark and jelt’s relationship could have been “fleshed” out more (ha get it) because we get told they were close but never see it lol

very enjoyable :)

quest is the very definition of a plot twist and i love him for it

bro i completely forgot that jelt gets transformed into a weird octopus monster thing 💀

this book is actually peak, it has:
- great world-building and lore
- a likeable main character (WOOOOO)
- super interesting character dynamics
- great prose and plot

side note: i find it funny how i wasn’t able to read harry potter at age 12 but somehow this book passed the sniff test 😂

re-reading this gem, i remember REALLY enjoying it back in 2019 so i wanna read it again from a not-12-year-old perspective hahaha

hot mean faery man who has trauma and loves the protagonist but hates how he loves the protagonist goes in for the kiss: ultimate romantasy trope mmmmmmmm

ok plot guessing time: cardan is actually a hot cruel faery with trauma ha gotcha

great message, although it could have been more concise and there were a number of grammatical errors. good book though :)

ok that part of the book was actually really great, moving from a 2.5 to a 3.5 - why couldn’t it have been this good earlier though 😭
