maybe the best first chapter of a book i've ever read. i am not exaggerating

maybe it’s just that it’s late right now, but “goodnight, gaylord, duke of the manor” took me OUT. like thirty straight seconds of audible laughter

very well written, but plot wise, oh my dear god. this is beating a dead horse the book. kicking you while you're down the book. there has not been a single good thing in this book yet and i'm over halfway through. misery misery misery that's what you've chosen

how many more pages can we spend on exposition. i'm genuinely asking. we get thrown headfirst into a dungeon with goblins driving a war machine; then we stop (for Way too long, considering there's a set amount of time before the whole level collapses) learning about How To Click On A Minimap and How Stats Are Generated. brother i don't Care i've played dnd i can fill in the blanks just let the man open his inventory

"chonk" on the first page buddy you are on thin ice and if it cracks i'm dnfing

nothing grinds my gears more than a character who has spent "so long planning, waiting for this moment," except they haven't been Planning, they've just been Imagining. having a fantasy of stabbing your high school crush a million times does not equal Having A Plan you dumb stupid idiot. you plan to stab him. that's it. god i hate it here

guy's i'm so sorry but this book is absolutely nothingburger. these characters are nothing. so many components of a good book are here and when you mix them together they make nothing

this book is not written well at all, but at the same time, it's not Bad. i truly have no idea what to make of it. thank god it's a quick read

Rena Rossner, look me in my eyes. Look me in my eyes and tell me you AND your editor are both unaware of the fact that that should be a period and not a comma. I have my grievances with this book already, but I Will Not Stand for grammatical errors in a traditionally published novel!! Even if they are nitpicky and small!!!
