Hilarious and sad.

This is so sad and at times so snarky and hilarious. Unfortunately this is a serious because Mack is truly having some mental health concerns and her friend Denise is getting a full on beat down with Macks paranoia and fears. I'm wondering if there's some truth to her suspicions. This is really good.

I'm dragging with this book. It's good it's me. I think.

I enjoyed this book.

This graphic novel was very fun to read, a poet and woman in love with an adventurous man who leaves for discovery and plan to marry once he returns...but he leaves her a letter not to open until he comes back, time passes she's worried and so she doesn't open it but treks off to find him and another adventure begins. The surprises are very adult issues but graphic novel art somehow calms the blow for me.

Enjoying the writing mad at Patsy ugh but she's hopefully going to make things right.

I really enjoyed this story and will look for the rest of the series. The art is absolutely beautiful.

Immense deep diving into the verbiage, works by authors I have read, not read or heard of. This was all exciting to me as was Elizabeth Costellos constant talks that became more tense and rebellious as it went on. Then the last three chapters were so upsetting. Boring, weird. I lost her and her son somewhere and yet this is still a four star read.

This really reminds me of a true story on the news. A girl goes missing and returns....or an episode of criminal minds or something.

This reads like a movie or something you read in the news that really happened. A kidnapped girl reappears and is traumatized by the criminal life she was forced to live.

This felt like an old school hired hitman story. And it was. Except the gun for hire changed course and as always the hit must be completed. It read like a thriller crime movie you've seen a hundred times.

I kind of like it and I kind of want to dnf it. I'm in the middle of it wondering should I go on? Is it entertaining me? Adding insight? I'm on the fence. Narrator has a nice voice beautiful accent yet, I don't want to hear her voice again today.

Spoiler....A man is hired to kill a woman but refuses the deal he meets with the woman to warn her and ends up on the run with the woman because someone else is hired to do the job.

Epic. This is a lesson in never losing the American spirit of hope and equality. When you lose everything and this country still tries to take more, to break you, to enslave you.....we know this story very well. Yet, during the dust bowl this mother and daughter fought the good fight and became two of the best characters I have ever read.

Every young American should read this and discuss.

This has been an emotional rollercoaster. I've cried in my car. I'm rooting for this family and America in the now because the way this country treats it's own people is ignorant and criminal. But that is who the the government has been and is.

I love this one. Very bookish, light on the spice and heavy on the romance.

Coetzee is as good as you would expect a noble prize winner to be.

I really love the narrator. Lol I am listening on my Libby app at 140% which makes the narrator sound human. I love that the two main characters are in the book business. I enjoy that they don't get obnoxious and hate one another. I enjoy the big sister and little sister recounting their lives and how one sibling can have an entirely different memory of how life happened during their you

The ladies are continuing to love and discover who they are.

Marry within society or follow your own heart and mind. Good history lesson at the end from the author.

Always interesting, always well written. Elizabeth Costello stills the show.

The usual traps of families wanting their daughters to marry for riches to stay a part of society.

Fine art. Coetzee is a noble prize winner for this very reason. Undeniably engaging in under 300 pages.

This is what literary genius reads like. Coetzee is priceless. Paul Rayment has more patience with Elizabeth Costello tha I would ever have. She's like the narrator of the story alongside Paul, yet she seems to be the writer of the entire book whenever she appears. It's brilliant because it has me guessing who and why is she here?

Exceptional title, nice read.

I read the first of the Skyland series twice and loved it. Then read the third on Libby and purchased the physical book and will reread it. This was good but the other two were better and re-readable. Once is enough for this one. But once is enough.

Love the series, the friendships, the family, and yet I felt at the end just wrap it up already. A little repetitive on the lovey dovey.
