Did you know that in the 1950s U.S. military doctors coined the term “Puerto Rican Syndrome” to describe the panic attacks Puerto Rican soldiers were experiencing during the Vietnam War and it made it into the DSM-5? The term is still synonymous to “ataque de nervios” which is supposed to be a cultural concept of distress..?

I went on a rabbit hole about research about this. Wtf.

Honestly, listening to this stresses me tf out. It’s too accurate. It feels like I’m on the phone with my family members dumping their problems on me 😅

Working my way through by physical TBR… except I abandoned this while trying to read it last time. So I’m listening this time instead!

This book so far is so lovely - what a practice in finding gratitude in the smallest things. Hilarious, silly at times, but always genuine and sometimes philosophical. Already a big fan of Ross Gay.
