This one is lowk kind of boring. The mystery is finding out how is behind the attacks on the suffragists but it’s boring. The thing is Charlie and Grace aren’t working together which is why it’s so boring and doesn’t feel the same as the last two. Their partnership is what made it so interesting.

Right now I’m having an issue with the pacing, I understand it’s a stand alone and there’s a lot to get through but it wouldn’t hurt to make it a few pages extra if just to slow down the start of the book. There’re scenes where the problems are solved way too quickly like they’re searching in the library and instead of describing the search it just cuts to “alright let’s take a break down”.

Eli sis making me so mad right now. he’s just being an asshole Violet only ever fights with him because she has to. The first time he literally victim blames her when her date LEAVES HER TO PAY for the $200+ meal and doesn’t even pretend to care how much that probably impacted her. And then he doesn’t want to make the dish his clients PAID FOR wtf that is so unprofessional

She says she’s really happy to be home and she kept talking about how she missed home so much but I am so baffled by this. This island seems like a miserable place to live genuinely terrible. If you’re a witch you get hunted for your entire life or killed, if you’re a regular citizen you live in poverty and if you’re an aristocrat you’re constantly having to prove loyalty to the regime.

Why is it so hard for authors to keep girls and guys friends. I thought Alex and Rune would just be best friends and the way Alex helps her is so amazing, but no.

Apparently he has feeling for her and there is no reason why this has to happen. We all know they won’t end up together Alex’s concern for her can be friendly. Girls and guys can be friends why is it so hard for authors to realise this

Istg I’m not even lying they call her the mortal queen over 300 times not even as a title as a name which pisses me off because it’s so stupid it may not seem like a big deal but once you’ve read it over and over again it gets so annoying just use her name?? It’s trying to be so different by calling her that because she’s so special and different 🤮

I genuinely like the take the author took on this book and the idea of the dark scary dude who murders everyone but doesn’t matter he’s also really hot. It shows theirs actually consequences for killing and idk why normally in fantasy books when you have this guy who’s scary and violent it’s like he’s also supposed to be this great guy but he’s actually still murdering people.

I can’t get over how he was calling her ugly for the longest time and the start

Romances set in a fantasy world but not fantasy if you know what I mean like where the romance isn’t a side plot and the main plot is a giant war eg: enchantment of ravens type of book is what I don’t see enough of
