This book is pretty intense. A lot to handle. A lot to think about. I need breaks between chapters to process the trauma it feeds.

I've read the first 2 books...and it is getting redundant...how are there so many books in this series? Each member of the pack needs to meet their mate, but it's the same process. Possessive wolves, lots of eating, studying, sexy wealthy nerd werewolves. Each couple runs into it's own minor issues, but it still kind of feels like reading a "choose your own adventure" book. "What if I do this 1 thing different?"

Audible has their site wide sale and it's amazing! This book? Not so much. Of the 25% I have read, 20% is smut! Ugh. I was so invested in the story! Now I just kinda want my 4 dollars back. 😆 🤣 😂 Someone warn me next time. I'm really not a prude, I just don't need so much open bedroom to get the point. Give me more plot, please.

Interesting...BUT, told in 3rd person, Boo! Makes it hard for me to connect with characters! Our FMC has escaped after being captive for months..maybe years.. she's pregnant with her captors baby, and trying to survive outside in the snow and negative temperatures. I SHOULD be feeling so much! Alas, I have this "outside looking in" perspective. Watching with interest, but not feeling what she feels!

Free on Audible - another low expectations book that was recommended for me (although I don't think Audible really knows me that well). 😅 They just like to offer me first-in-series books free, hoping I'll get hooked and pay for the rest!

...hoping this gets better. Kinda boring...and says "love" (and every variation of it) way. too. much.

Hoopla BONUS BORROW. Guys. My audiobook addiction is real. I have 3 hoopla accounts and I've used every borrow from every one... in the shortest month of the year! Not sure how that even happened, but here we are... don't let me down, Samuel. (Does anyone else suffer from the hoopla borrow limits?! I'm not limited in the physical library! Why the digital?!) I use Libby and my Audible account to fill in gaps too.

I'm just a few chapters into the 1st book and it's very weird. Definitely a unique new idea, but not sure I like it. Dream walking + time traveling seems like the ultimate power! Just go to sleep and you can travel anywhere, any time period, with anyone that has ever lived, to learn all you want! I dunno, I'm having a hard time getting into it.

Why is this book called Restraint? Because our MC's have none! Our protagonist is introduced as a strong, smart, independent attorney. She meets a man at the airport and (politely) won't even give him her name or number. A few hours later she let him "rail her" against the railing of a hotel balcony. Her excuse is that she's "on vacation". Don't we all throw our morals out when we vacay? Might be my next DNF.

???? I have no idea what is happening. The world building is so extreme and we're just immediately thrust into it without any understanding of what these made up words mean... I feel like I'm listening to a book in another language. 😕 Or like Dr. Seuss for YA. I am a Christian and even I am uncertain as to what these analogies mean. This cuff that enhances power? The Holy Ghost? I don't know.

So far this is kind of boring. 😴 Cage is just waiting around to see if Bianca might change into a wolf after he accidentally grazed her arm trying to save her. They have great sex but no real connection. At least, I'm not feeling it. I am afraid it's going to end up being extremely predictable.

I had read book 1 awhile back... I don't remember it super well... but I know the books are read as stand alones with the focus on different characters. I think more than having interest in this book specifically, I'm just craving more Heather Long. Please don't disappoint!

This story is really cool, but I was having a hard time getting sucked in... and then I realized why. It is written in 3rd person! I have no insight into our heroine. I prefer feeling like I'm IN the book - not watching it unfold like a bystander. I will finish it - but likely will not continue the series.

I'm not sure if I will be able to finish this... it reads more like a History text book than a story. I hope it will get more entertaining as it goes...

It's taking me awhile to get through this one.
1. It's an e-book. I miss the performances of the audiobooks. Why did the reader stop after 3 books in a series of 5?!
2. Nothing happens! The other books were action packed! This is mostly dialog and deciding to date 5 guys.
One chapter is about dog training. Another about setting up to live stream. Don't care about dog treats or ethernet cords & ring lights, bro.

The editing here is not great. And so far, the story a bit boring. There was so much going on in the previous book - and now everything has really settled down and I am mostly reading dialogue between characters while nothing is happening. It may take me awhile to get through. Is it bad to wish it was on audiobook so I could put the speed x2 and plow through the boring parts?

I'm so confused. We learned at Academy Camp in the last book, that the Academy makes up fake school names and lies to parents about where their kids are going. Sang's father wants her in a boarding school and the guys want her out of that house...yet they say their backs are against the wall and they need a special plan to get her out... it all seems so obvious. 🤦‍♀️

Grabbed this off Libby when I noticed several of my "friends" on Goodreads said was was great. So far, FMC is very close in age to me, so I am looking forward to that, after so many 16-26 year old female leads. 😀

Reading with my kid. She was born on Halloween and insists she loves spooky things. The stories in the book aren't really spooky as much as silly.

A few chapters in, this series is so weird. All the characters are just really....unbelievable. Unrealistic. A whole group of boys that curse and pitch a fit because they didn't know their girl friend was having a birthday soon. A Principal that locks a girl in his office with him and asks said student to investigate a police case, or else get kicked out? 🤔 That's just not how things work. We'll see.

The audiobook is a little hard to follow. The perspective jumps between characters without warning and it's hard to differentiate the actual dialogue from the thoughts in their heads. The reader is great, but I think seeing the written words with quotations, and spaces between perspective would be helpful. As much as I love the flexibility of audiobooks, sometimes paper is best. Case in point.

The star ratings are so high. I guess we'll see...

This is dragging quite a bit....

Very much a children's book. Constant adventures and really imaginative fantasy. The characters are pretty immature. I love this author's adult books for her prayerful encouragement. So far, I'm not sure where she's going with this one. We have the armor (of God) and an invisible enemy. I get that. But the weird spiritual guide that's "a purple blob" and the floating golden symbolism? Confusing.

Was in the mood for dystopian. This one has very few, but very high ratings. Excited to get started on it!

This book is just a bunch of re-hashing the past, with sexual acts in between. We are learning everything we ever wanted to know about "The Frenchman". But honestly, I kind of hate how the first book was spent on Shawn and Dominic....we fell in love with them... and then the series basically threw them away and put a new love interest into the picture and now it's just all about him.

I am only 2 chapters in, and so far this book is really disjointed. The 1st chapter was about a new girl wanting to make friends...and some incident where she left her bag at the pool. Then the 2nd chapter is talking about a boy who fights in school, her grandma's death effect on her mom, and her older sister's eating disorder. None if it seems tied together, yet, reads as if it makes perfect sense. I'm lost!

Hoping for a shifter romance that's a little cleaner. I recently enjoyed Street's dystopian - might as well try her romantasy!
