Competently written, and has some good tips that have somewhat inspired some ideas in me. But none the less, something inside me makes this book rub the wrong way. Maybe it's the formulaicness of it? The willingness to box away all stories in one neat way? Is it the contents? I don't know, but what I do know is while I read this book something in me is dissatisfied.

Really interesting concepts. Honestly too much to really process in one read. I think I’ll definitly want to re read this sometime.

I like it. Not frustrating to read and takes a unique(from all the self improvement stuff I’ve seen) position on time management.

This shit so fire guys. I think I liked the movie more just because the movie was so fucking good. But by gazeebas I haven’t enjoyed a book this much in a while.

I don’t know it’s still jsut not grabbing me, it’s fine just not that interesting. I think I just find the ways the character and dialogue written pretty boring and we’re finally going into interesting stuff but anytime soemthing interesting happens it happens and then the books like “quick put the breaks back on” and we go back to a slow boring pace.

Mmmmm, I don’t know. The first hundred pages were just set up and Darrow kinda smooping about without any clear goals which I guess was kind of the goal but just kind of ended up being boring and uninvesting me, especially after such a cool opener. I guess past page 100 it gets a bit more interesting but I’m stuck both liking it and being unsatisfied, I’ll need to read more to feel more.

Why is there so much pissing on people to shame them in these books. Are the golds dogs or something?

The character drama is actually so compelling and fun, and I like how the main character Darrow really fails as much as he succeeds while not making him seem incompetent, it’s jsut that the tests are hard and they’re all learning the shit. And they’re really holding this secret drama it’s crazy

It’s interesting, a little bit of a slow start but an easy enough read, interesting characters and dynamics. And well set up stakes in various aspects of the story, I’m excited to see where it goes since while this book has been interesting and fun enough to read it hasn’t truly reached me as deeply as I think it potentially could.

I enjoyed a slight amount of the imagery within the dream section of the 180th pages, but then it just kept going on and made it worse

Another thing I have beef with is that it swaps from 2nd to 3rd perspective randomly and I don’t enjoy it, I understand it’s trying to get you to like feel the actions but I don’t like how the 2nd person perspective is written so it doesn’t hit at all.

You know what this book reminds me of? A shitty fanfic that hasn’t learned how to use dialogue yet, doesn’t really have anything going on, and loves to over describe literally fucking everything.

At least I’m learning everything I’d want to avoid in my own writing. Also the fact it doesn’t use quotations for dialogue just kinda enmeshes it into the paragraph and it annoys me much.

I saw someone else describe it as reading a 200 monologue of a high person telling you about how amazing the earth is over and over in slightly different ways and yeahs that’s perfectly describes this book so far, nothing interesting to say
