Wow this book is *so* terrible. MMC is a parody of an alpha moron and I stg the FMC "lifts her chin ddefiantly" on every other page. I'm definitely going to finish it though lol.

not understanding the hate for Hattie, but when do I ever

I think if I ever read a male narrator doing a MMC with a Scottish accent, I may actually pass out. Also I 100% support Hattie being a bitch and Lucie is a real one.

so far this book feels like a warm blanket, but based on the reviews I think I should prepare for some emotional devastation

this MMC is an absolute dreamboat

this dude sucks. at least there were a few pages where he managed to not blame someone else for "making him" do something violent/abusive/etc

this book is mostly rape/abuse apology. I really wish she would just kill him.

Mostly it's just ok, but wow the "they're in love" sex was good.

I doubt I have the wherewithal to leave a review, but I looooved it.

bored. don't care about the couple and it's a lot longer than it needs to be.

This book is definitely unique and really good at times. Wish the MMC hadn't been so much of a stalker creep.

Joshua: a brat full of longing and in denial about it

Pages and pages of "it really sucks how men try to control women," yet a FMC drooling over a guy who hasn't done much other than use his money and power to try to control her. Body betrayal vibes.

It makes me want to cry that someone as cool as Aurora is being paired with someone who doesn't respect her AT ALL. I wish she would stab him and leave him for dead in the alley.

Wow I despised this book, I've never almost DNF'd at 95% before.

Why do so many authors wait til 80% thru the book to suddenly realize they forgot to give any depth to the MMC, then make a mad scramble to try to make them relatable. I guess it's better than nothing.

MMC has kind of a delusional rapist's mentality - ie "she is saying no, but she doesn't know what she needs! I do!" The FMC talking about how kind and sweet he is after he SA'd her is certainly a choice. The references to Africa are a bit...yikes.

I hate them both so much. I hope they jump off a cliff together. The MMC because he's a Mary Sue prick and interchangeable with about 5000 other MMCs. The FMC because she is such a shit friend while being whiny and hypocritical about it. Harry and Millicent need to leave her toxic ass in the dust.

Dunno if I've ever gone from laughing to crying to laughing again so fast.
