Oryn and all his alters are great but the MC, who I ironically can't remember the name of, is forgettable and robotic. His contribution is "I'm not like other guys I 1) am nice 2) don't judge 3) have a low sex drive". He's the literary equivalent of unsalted butter.

Not enough characters for my last update, but I read that and was just like...wtf why? The authors note said she poured her heart into writing this, but it's very 2/10 so far. There's a lot of cliched dialogue and over the top characterization that makes me want to roll my eyes. Also dated slang, which is cringe. "For the win"? Yikes.

Yep DNF. MC Liam just used the r-word. When the hell was written where the author would think that's okay?

I think this is a DNF. Liam's describes his gf as hot as a bitch and that's it. Theyve been dating 3, tf? Also his gf is shown as a stereotyped Mean Girl, sexually forward and comes off desperate. Despite being repulsed, nauseated, and scornful of her he's still dating her, kissing her, walking her to class...just leading her on entirely. Meanwhile he's thinking about Aiden's "delicious touch" like ew dude

Liam makes no sense. Aiden knocks into him on accident & falls: "I was about to reach out to stop him from falling, but something stopped me instead. Once he hit the ground, I visibly winced, and my wolf whined" then after Aiden apologized Liam goes: "I forced a scowl on my face as I watched him look up at me" like why? There's no thoughts motivating him to be so antagonistic. Nothing about disliking him at all

I'm really not feeling this. The characters feel very one dimensional and irrational. Human MC is ashamed of being gay and isnt publically out. There's no reasoning for his internalized homophobia. he voices how supportive his family is & his bro is protective There's no internal explanation or reflection for why he feels ashamed of being gay

“Two fucking months have gone by, and save for a single goddamn text on my birthday, I haven’t heard from you. Shit, you could’ve been dead on the side of the road or joined the cabbage patch and I wouldn’t have fucking known.” A few weeks ago he said “leave and don’t come back” please make some fucking sense. Also joined the cabbage patch? What?

Ugh the constant misogynistic comments about mom’s having a “bitch fit” and “bitching out” for not forcing yourself to kiss someone when you don’t want to…also what the hell. Consent isn’t transactional.

Like seriously, the first eight sentences in chapter two: “That little shithead...Probably because I gave him the damn nuclear codes years ago... I’m still staring long after he’s passed through the doors leading to the team’s weight room, indoor cages, and all that shit…It sounds shitty, I know.”

It’s very “we’re men and that means we can’t make it through an interaction without a smirk and a four letter word”. It feels like a shallow caricature of masculinity.

The heavily explanatory writing style is nearly unbearable.
