AAAAND the substance abuse. Okay. I feel this is leagues from the first book. To a point it’s jarring and feels…I don’t know…egregious? Like, we get it, Malina is self medicating, this is backwards character growth, but it’s so disjointed from the rest of the story.

PORTABLE AEDS ARE STICK ONS!!!!!! AND WHY DIDNT YOU USE THEM EARLIER FFS!!!

There is no way a medical professional would not say “Clear!” if using manual paddles in a room full of non-medical personnel. Even portable AEDs say “Stand clear!”. Also unlikely that this would be the only place to do this. Where are your chest compressions? Why wasn’t there a portable, or wall-attached AED anywhere else on the ship?
