Promising start.

It's hard to be in Vasya's head when she's being humiliated and rejected by literally everyone. It's so unfair, the situations that she's in, so it makes it a painful reading experience.

I’m not sure if there’s any point finishing this. I should’ve read this physically because as an audiobook it just doesn’t work. Might be best if I just call it here and listen to something that I’m actively enjoying… guys, it just feels so loooong.

im enjoying this but I think the audiobook was a bad idea.

"...she learned that girls were more than welcome to like sports in Beartown - just not the way she did. Not that much.... Teenage girls were primarily supposed to be interested in hockey players, not hockey.

I feel like someone has punched me in the gut.

Wanted to get to 200 pages tonight but I just got to the super traumatising part so I’m gonna put it down for the night.

After this book, I probs won’t look at reading the rest of the series but this is really fantastically done so far.

Tv show kinda slaps and I wanted something fun to read.

I can’t wait for this to be over. I take it back, I won’t be reading the second book.

Unoriginal and predictable but not wholly unenjoyable so I will finish this

Deeply Australian. Nothing particularly groundbreaking about this but I’m still enjoying it.

Ava Reid is one of my most hit or miss authors and while I could point to things I don’t think are done super well in this book there are also aspects of it that I’m loving.

If your 16 year old - who was the child of a teen mum who has now abandoned her because said mum became a parent too early - came to you and said she might be pregnant, I would make sure she knew abortion was a choice (and honestly a preferable one at that). I would not be thinking "but oh what a wonderful addition to our family". Are you crazy?!
