Going through it nicely; reading this while I wait for my...friend to read the book we were supposed to start together

Just done with the prologue and first chapter and I just wonder what business I even have starting a new book rn. But ey! Book clubbbb

Plowing though, slowly but surely. It's very well written, but it's very obvious that I'm not engrossed in the story. Like I'm not thinking about it when I'm not reading it yk

I'm enjoying it no doubt. But it's not the easier thing to flip through for hours. I'm not that far in but it's very well written and I can tell that the story will be worth it even if the slow burn ends up not being my favorite in the world

Really hoping to enjoy this. Started this the same Thursday night that I finished that phantom book. First subplot romance since Six of Crows series. Nervous but hoping

I think this is also hat to enjoy cuz it's just got no plot outside of them. And like the stakes just are never high enough despite the supposed threats on her life

How's the book? HOW IS IT? It's fucking amazing
I found an FMC that I actually like, with stakes I actually care about. It gets really real but somehow it manages to still be escapist enough. I'm flying through it. I love love love a slow burn.

At the core of the characters motivations is something so strong and sincere. Rooted and lived in. It gives this book so much life and so much background to grow from. It's why I've been enjoying it so much, been so invested, and why I got so disappointed by the choice to reunite them physically so prematurely. I hope it gets better from this point on. Already getting glimpses of hope that it will from chapter 19

Chapter 17... I can't. I'm really uncomfortable with how they started being physical with eachother again. I wish it would've waited till AFTER they'd worked through the emotional stuff. And that they weren't doing it 'accidentally' either. Now I'm just disappointed in the MC and I can't get past that. But I'm going to try and finish this tonight. Pretend that that whole chapter was a dream. Need it to redeem itself

Already enjoying the writing style of this a lot more than the last book I read. I also forgot how relatable her FMCs are. Like apart from all the romance in you with a view I really appreciated the fact that her MCs struggling was portrayed somewhat realistically. Or at least the fears surrounding the struggle. I think she does that well, the emotional part of it yk

Fighting my way through the beginning because of the rave reviews I've heard. I don't mind the characters or even the convoluted storyline. What I'm trudging through is the writing style. Like bro what the hell is with the past tense internal monologue. She literally says "I was blonde, five seven etc etc" you WERE?? So um that's my current struggle with it. Just want the actual romance to start already

My first actually timely update. Bro... I've been missing OUT on the romance genre. This is something. Like wow. Yes to yearning, yes to descriptive writing.. I'm just flying through this one and devouring it yum

These books start slow, but supposedly this one is better than the first one so I'll stick with it

After receiving some sought out confirmation from reddit reviews that the book does indeed get better and that I was not imagining it being a really slow start, I think I finally got to the bit of the book that it gets good. the ball. I'm so invested now. I also got a tip about the romantic interest of the MC and if I'm right then I'm even more invested because the character is beginning to have a bigger role already

I'm liking it so far. Started it I think last week or the one before. The world building is craaaazy, and the vocabulary is even wilder. I know I'm not being very descriptive in describing the author's descriptiveness but that's what makes it a bigger deal yk, cause my vocab is like pretty shit rn. Anyway, I need more from it still, but the way it's going so far I think I'll stick with it.

NOT FINISHING THIS IT'S SO ASS. Basically the same story as the first one and the show did the characters sooooo much better. lmao bye
