Not a super fan of the style. Overly descriptive. I don’t need to know what a gas station looks like down to the brick. It’s okay to leave some things to the imagination. The main characters don’t have much personality for me to get behind. I know there’s more than one book in this series, but I’m hoping this case is resolved this book.

It’s ok so far… I’m just wondering why he hasn’t interviewed anyone in relation to the murders to see what the connection is or gone back inside their homes and searched or anything. Like .. investigate dawg. I think I’m just early tho

I do not like the Barbara chapters. Being in her head sucks. I’m not sure I will end up finishing this one

Picked this book up after a really long time. The audiobook narrators are my favorite of all the audios I’ve listened to so far.

Liking it so far :) Got to read some at the beach, now catching up on some more outside Starbies

Much better than the last book I read. Taking me a while to get through it though.

I interpret this story as if it’s written by someone who is just wanting to write about sick thoughts. Like he’s going for a shock factor but it’s coming across even worse than the content itself. Idk how to explain it. It’s just not good writing… I need to learn how to stop reading books I don’t like

Sooo boring so far. Sadly I must finish books. Just trying to get more info on the killer. I know there’s more books in this series so if I finish this and this case isn’t solved in one book I’m gonna be annoyed

I’m loving these evil, vindictive, terrible characters 🤣 it’s written well so you love to hate them instead of just being annoyed by them the whole book. Some stuff seems a bit far fetched and it’s a bit wordy, but oftentimes new information is revealed after a good wordy stretch so at least there’s that.

Was not expecting the change of perspective since it’s just been one this whole time. It’ll probably be pretty nice to get out of the f’d up mind of the main character. She is twisted!

Started pretty strong for me! I like the premise. Unique in a very twisted way.

Advent book with Jerrica. It’s going pretty okay. Lots to be revealed yet apparently.

This books pissing me off a little bit. It’s written like this. “I walked in the door. I took off my coat. I stepped inside. I walked to the couch and sat down.” You know what I mean .. and like… I learned not to write like that in like 2nd grade. I vividly remember having an assignment to write an essay or whatever on how to make a PB&J and the point of the exercise was to not do this.

I think I needed to read a book with a male lead character. Every book I’ve read so far has been a female lead .. or back and forth.

Going from reading 300 page books to a 600+ fantasy with so much detail is hard 😆 I don’t really need an update on every person in the fourth wings progress, let’s get to it here

The backstory of the antagonists are wildddd.

Hasn’t been my favorite book so far. Not sure how I feel about the interview style chapters. Things in the story have just been too convenient. Too much emphasis on how the main character is “weird”.

Lots of things going on. I like this.

I like the fucked up-ness. Brandyn’s reaction to me describing one of the scenes was funny.

Pros:
I likes the writing style
Not nearly as cringey as the other dark romance books I’ve read
Has a plot with promise
I’m into the voyeurism

Cons:
Growl. Nuff said

Drinking game idea: drink every time an dark romance author uses the word “growl” 🤣

Needed a change of pace. Recommendation from Shelby. I’ve barely started obviously, but some intriguing backstory off the bat. Also, I like the name Noir.

May this type of “friendship” never find me. Amen.
