Ok not gonna lie this part spooked me a good bit 😂

Advent book with Jerrica. It’s going pretty okay. Lots to be revealed yet apparently.

This books pissing me off a little bit. It’s written like this. “I walked in the door. I took off my coat. I stepped inside. I walked to the couch and sat down.” You know what I mean .. and like… I learned not to write like that in like 2nd grade. I vividly remember having an assignment to write an essay or whatever on how to make a PB&J and the point of the exercise was to not do this.

I think I needed to read a book with a male lead character. Every book I’ve read so far has been a female lead .. or back and forth.

Going from reading 300 page books to a 600+ fantasy with so much detail is hard 😆 I don’t really need an update on every person in the fourth wings progress, let’s get to it here

The backstory of the antagonists are wildddd.

Hasn’t been my favorite book so far. Not sure how I feel about the interview style chapters. Things in the story have just been too convenient. Too much emphasis on how the main character is “weird”.

Lots of things going on. I like this.

I like the fucked up-ness. Brandyn’s reaction to me describing one of the scenes was funny.

Pros:
I likes the writing style
Not nearly as cringey as the other dark romance books I’ve read
Has a plot with promise
I’m into the voyeurism

Cons:
Growl. Nuff said

Drinking game idea: drink every time an dark romance author uses the word “growl” 🤣

Needed a change of pace. Recommendation from Shelby. I’ve barely started obviously, but some intriguing backstory off the bat. Also, I like the name Noir.

May this type of “friendship” never find me. Amen.

Ok I’m getting a little sick of my Kindle algorithm. It only recently dawned on me that I’ve gotten a lot of thriller/mystery books involving children. This one’s one of them and the characters are pissing me off right off the bat, but stupid me has to see it through now. After this I gotta make sure to find something different.

It’s starting to drag on a bit for me. Turning into some weird love story that honestly doesn’t make a lot of sense.

My dog ate this book. Safe to say I won’t be finishing.

Interesting to not have chapters at all. Not sure if I like that since I tend to read way too long once I get going, there’s not any real good stopping places.

Got caught up for the 31 day challenge and am ready to read October 10th tomorrow (: It’s definitely got some spooky vibes going on. Kind of like a bit more morbid, scooby doo type mystery. My only complaint is that some of the imagery is described so oddly that I can’t picture at all what he’s trying to describe lol

God this book is so good so far. Perfect balance of (relatively) ordinary storyline and shocking scenes // Morbid moments & sexy interactions. I feel like it’s hitting all the trigger warnings you could hit but in a way that is still bearable to get through? If that’s possible. I enjoy the way the authors integrates past and present.. as its relative to the story & not necessarily a back & forth for each chapter

So far I’m pretty meh on this. It’s an easy read, but I’m not really buying into the story or the main character. Or any of the characters. Plus the lack of research into how mental health/psychiatric disorder diagnoses work bothered me lol. Like Minka has never been to therapy in her life lol.

Think I can tell where this is going…

Had to take a break from fourth wing and come back to this. Such a wild plot. It’s got a mellow sort of flow, but the undertones are very tense and I can’t help from thinking, how in the world could this story unfold.

Recommendation from a friend. Not really feeling it so far … boring for me. Gonna try a few more chapters.
