Honestly,,, I’m happy this book is so long

!!! Jag älskar denna tokiga kvinna som absolut GER SIG HÄN till denna besatthet. Också att det verkar vara lite arkeologi redan nu? Och osteologi??? Är så spänd. Uusma är en fantastisk författare som får allt gammalt slitet och dött att låta så himla spännande

Makes me want to resume ”what I loved”.
Reminds me of blue nights by Joan Didion. It’s longer than I imagined. Pleased about that. Hustvedt is a very good reader in the audiobook. Many nice nuggets of text that I wish I could take notes of. Audiobook stressors. How am I going to find that scentence again?

Volume 1 finished. I enjoy this reading experience a lot and am pleased that there’s still loads ahead. My complaints aren’t strong enough to make me dejected in the least, however, they are:
I don’t know enough war history and technicalities to understand as I go, leading me to look up things a lot, and, that it’s the reverse of ”show don’t tell”.

I really like this reading experience. I thought I would need ”palate cleansers” due to the size of the book, but It doesn’t read like a big difficult book. It’s exciting and I am always anxious to see what happens to everyone.

Book I finished! So far so good. Bit confusing with the amount of characters. Keeping a list of everyone’s names as a bookmark…… but I guess that’s the Tolstoy experience.

So far an astonishing amount of characters ! Murdoch wastes zero time introducing her cast and their relationships to one another. I’m keeping a notes app list of everyone …. I don’t mind this style of writing but I hope the story sort of settles soon

Ok I’m biased because I love McCullers but I think I just read the best first 20 pages of a book ever !

love Woolf 4 ever til I die. Thought this couldn’t possibly be as introspective, soothing, complex as the lighthouse but here we are. The way her characters feel so complete is spectacular. The way she reaches the core of her characters, always!

My perseverance is slowly running out but I’m determined to finish. Sometimes the reading is incredibly slow, but that also feels good at times. Will def wait a few months before #3

Can’t be bothered to finish listening to this right now. For me it was never really the worldbuilding, but always thorn, lol. But yeah I need to finish this soon. Just don’t really care?

Started a couple of years ago, but after a long break I picked it up again. Was about halfway through. Had to read up on the plot thus far and the characters again. It’s a very very good book to read before falling asleep bc it’s so detailed and slow.

About to start. Very excited. Saw a documentary and was intrigued by Ephron. I have high expectations. Also very much want to see the movie adaptation.
