CHARACTERIZATION: Thomas feels betrayed.Teresa betrayed him, she took him where the other group was hiding and put him in a gas tank for thirty seconds. He didn't die but his lungs were poisoned. On (p. 321) it says, "Whatever you say traitor," Thomas said, his face hiding none of the hatred he felt for Teresa. "I don't want to hear another word from you." Thomas feels bad that he yelled at Teresa but he feels hurt.

SUMMARY:Thomas is in the flare with Minho and this new girl Brenda. They reach the Rat man's house and they are ambushed by some Cranks. Brenda and Thomas run away from the Cranks. Brenda takes him underground where they think they are safe but then there are Cranks waiting for them. They hide and then they think the Cranks leave but one of them stays. He tries killing Thomas but they end up escaping leaving the man.

VISUALIZE: When I read the Scorch Trials I have to visualize the room, the outside & the characters. They describe the room as large with one man. There are people that Thomas has never seen before. There is also a large metal ball that slowly starts moving towards them. They all ran away because it swallowed someone. They find an exit & the author describes the outside as the sun because the sun has moved closer.

INCITING INCIDENT: My character starts off in the human world. She doesn't fit in. When she is 12 she got hit by a car and started having really weird headaches, then Fitz came and told her she was an elf and that she has telekinesis. This happened in book one. In my book the changing moment is when the Black Swan asks Sophie and her friends to leave their families and join them. They go and it changed their lives.

THE STORY ARCHETYPES: My book is the Quest because Sophie wants to find out answers to who she is, and to uncover the truth about the Lost Cities. Sophie's main goal is to discover her true identity and to understand why she was created. She is also accompanied by her friends, which is in the definition of the Quest. There are many obstacles and dangers while searching for the truth and protecting their world.

SUMMARY: The main character is Sophie Foster. She is a 15 year old girl that learned that she was an elf 4 years ago. She had to leave her fake parents and was adopted by very nice elves who lived in a town called Hatfield. She goes on adventures to help out animals, elves, etc. The events take place outside, caves or forests. She gets passed secret notes that tell her where to go. The story is told in 3rd person.

VISUALIZE: When I read my book I create an image in my head. An example of Visualizing is on page 443 " After they had gotten in their beds and changed they went to hang up their uniforms for the night." In my head I was visualizing three people (2 boys and one girl),people changing into their pajamas and going to bed and hanging up their uniforms. This is what I visualize but other people may see it differently.

TEXT TO SELF; The plot of the book is about a girl that had no friends in the human world. She didn't belong there, kind of like me. I had trouble making friends in 6th grade just like Sophie did. She went to a place where she was loved and everyone was kind and nice to her. She went to another world and she changed herself. It was called the Lost cities. I found a better "World" too. I have better friends now.

CHARACTERIZATION: Sophie is the main character and she is nervous all the time. She is nervous because of her friends because she doesn't think that they like her. Throughout the book she gets better with them and starts to open up. She tugs out loose eyeglasses whenever she is nervous. She also bites her fingernails. She thinks to herself that no one likes her and she says she wants to crawl into a ball and cry.

ANTAGONIST: In my book there is a group called Never seen that is the Antagonist. They are working against the Black Swan, which Sophie is a part of. Never seen wants to work on Sophie because of her enhanced telepathy powers. The Black Swan is currently hiding Sophie from Never seen in the human world called the forbidden cities. The only person we know from Never seen is Keefe's mom. Keefe did not know this.

STATIC VS. DYNAMIC. Sophie Foster is a dynamic character because, when she was little she was taken away from her family and placed in a new home. Then when she was 10 she discovered that she was an elf and went to Atlanta, a world with elves. This changed her life forever. Her flaws are that she is very clumsy. Every book has her on the cover and she is on every page. This shows that she is a dynamic character.

CONFLICT: Right now in my book it's character vs self. She is trying to fix her mind because it's breaking. Also other people are able to come into her mind which shouldn't be happening. On page 275 it says, "Sophie covered her ears like it could somehow shield her mind somehow." Fitz was able to get into her mind which should not happen. She has the strongest mind in the community so this shouldn't be happening.

MAKE PREDICTIONS: I have no clue how my book is going to end. My prediction for the next chapter is that Sophie is going to heal Fintand. I'm not positive but she is very strong with her mind and I think she can do it. On page 234 it says,"The healing was tomorrow and the Councillors and Fitz were counting on her to get through it safely." I think it's for shadowing that the healing will go well.

POINT OF VIEW: My book is a 1st person narrator. The story is told by a girl and it's from her point of view. You can hear other people speak but you can only hear her thoughts. She is on every page because the story is told from her point of view. I know that because if something else is happening in the story you can't see or hear them you can only see what when or where the main character is.

PROTAGONIST: The protagonist in my story is Sophie Foster. She is a thirteen year old girl. When she was a baby the black swan messed with her brain and made her super overpowered. She didn't know she was an elf until Fitz came to take her to Elvin city. She grew up with humans and then she started to get migraines. She has telepathy and she is the strongest to ever live. She has blond hair and she is small.

SETTING: The story takes place in a Havenfield. The current scene is they are in the Wandering Woods, and they are having a funeral for Alden. Everyone is super sad and they are all crying (p.442) and they plant a special tree for him. The book doesn't give a real description of when the time stamp is but I think it's in the fall of the year that Sophie's journey into the Lost Cities began.

My book Genre is Fantasy fiction and I am reading keeper of the lost cities.

Sophie finds out that Aldens mind is broken and cannot be replaced. She still wants to fix it but the family is mad at her because they think it's her fault. She goes back to school and fails her test. Sophie is feeling stressed. As a result, she has a migraine and blacks out for an hour.

Sophie foster is in exile. She almost lost Alden. She got Ewlien and Fitz to help her and then they went back to Evelgreen.

I'm on the part that she is trying to find out Pretitce and his mind.
