I've been enjoying this book so far. I've been a fan of Richelle's writing and I've been reading a lot of books with styles that aren't to my taste so this has been a nice change of pace.

I'm not a fan of this sort of story with preparing for court, women being trained to sold into being wives and that sort of thing but I knowing Richelle I have a lot of faith in seeing where this goes.

This book needs a map!

There reaches a point where I question what is the point of making your protagonist a vampire if you're going to take out all the things that make a vampire a vampire. So just a random chick with big teeth?

And the writing is really not for me, it's so cheesy. I think I'm just not the right audience for this one.

I also don't get why it's modern or why if they're at war they live in the same city for years?

I've read the first book "The Fallen" now. Initially, I remember finding the premise quite interesting being a teenager myself at the time I first read it and watched the show.

Picking this up again, I actually hated it. The language is dated and she is quite girly and annoying. But I came to really like it because she's acting her age and doing the best in her situation.

Everything from here on will be new to me.

I finished part two and it's probably the best literature I've genuinely read since I can remember.

I've read the first part of this book and the writing is very good. The artwork in this book is also incredible and atmospheric.

I will say that it is very hard to keep up with names even if I have some semblance of an idea when it comes to the houses of this world. There are just too many to remember and no matter how hard I tried I could not absorb them all and stay on track.
