the chapter "The test" is interesting and core of the book I think, because it explains how checklists must be tested in real-world conditions before they can be trusted and widely used. The core ideas are :
- checklist must be practical, reveals hidden problems,
- teamwork and dynamics matter
- iterate and refine for improvement
- learning from failures

Communication and Teamwork is as important as individual expertise, especially in medical field.

It is highly effective for all team members (Senior surgeon, anesthesiologist, scrub nurse, circulating nurse, resident surgeon) talk with one another about the case and roles at least for a minute before starting surgery. It improved coordination and reduces errors. This effective measure is called "Verbal checklist".
