Somewhat disappointing, so far. The story has taken a huge turn, in my opinion, from the original storyline. We’ll see.

Definitely falls into the “Cozy Murder Mystery”genre, but the change of pace I was looking for.

I hadn’t picked this one up in quite a few months so I had to go back a couple of chapters to refresh my memory. It’s a little on the sad side but still interesting.

It’s not the big, ferocious cryptids that haunt me but the tiny, nearly invisible ones that make my skin crawl. This one, as you can probably guess by the books title falls into this latter category. Great read, so far.

Enjoyable so far. This is a mixture of fantasy, with samurai, and a ghost story(?)

Very esoteric. Most of the book to this point has focused on thoughts/discussion of various “plans within plans, within plans”. Some action but things are being revealed slowly, as might be expected.

The story is a classic, the writing feels a tad juvenile but that may be a misjudgment on my part.

Looks promising, so far.

Entertain story but if/when I go a day or so without reading I seem to lose my way and need to backtrack, A chapter or two, to catch back up. This is a personal limitation of mine and NOT the author's writing.

The word that popped into my mind is “enchanted”. Ngozi Bolin’s writing is enchanting. This remains one of my favorite books in quite a while.

I love the author’s use of language. This is what, to me, embodies what a fantasy story is.

An entertaining read, and with it being a murder/mystery it's got the suspense element going for it as well.

I enjoy this "sub-genre" of fiction. To me, there is something very viscera about violence with a sword or axe that is missing from modern or futuristic firearms

I’m finding it to be quite an engaging read.

Almost non-stop horror from the get-go.

I’m not sure how to classify this. A murder mystery but with a private investigator who is more of a “blue-collar” Sherlock Holmes. Arrowood’s companion is a bit more rough around the edges than Dr. Watson. This has more of a noir feel to it.

Sci-Fi with mystery, spies, and evidence of “aliens”.

A complex murder mystery, possibly connected, double murders.

A fantasy based on Norse mythology.

So far, another great one.

This is a re-read for me.
