Foer hunts so hard for symbolism…

Plenty of good information in here. Biden is oddly absent from much of the text, though — not suggesting he was an absentee president, just noting that Foer mainly tells this history (so far) from the perspective of others, and the president doesn’t seem to be the focal point. Interesting choice. A bit weird.

Ok, really going to read it all the way through this time.

This is the second of Sandford’s novels that (to my memory) includes a cop murdering a suspect. This time with witnesses, & not a bad guy in the story. Not a fan of this. Despite Davenport’s body count, and frequency with which he’s identified as a “killer”, there are times when it feels like Sandford is pandering to Punisher-logo-wearing-idiots. It’s out of character, and I don’t know why he does it.
