Author gets bogged down in inconsequential details. Makes for a boring read so far. Hoping it picks up.

Definitely not one of my favorites. First, the ladies all seem to be coping attitudes. Second, demonstrate no political savvy whatsoever, and third, family members have to explain history and feelings, etc so they get it. Too laborious.

Anyone with the least amount of political savvy knows staying w the enemy is going to cause issues. Suddenly in this book all the women are stupid.

Totally lost interest which is unusual because I normally like Calista Skye books. Not this story.

MAJOR Frustration here-so this title pops up by an author I’ve enjoyed. Naturally I start reading it only to find in Chapt 1 that I’m missing A LOT of a backstory. I then spend at least 30 mins trying to find not only the chronological order of books but the series as well with which to start. Could authors not make it easier on us by telling us all that upfront. Book on pause so I can catch up.

The main story line is an obvious disaster in the making. I don’t understand why the author would go down this path since one of the previous books made a big deal over withholding the truth and keeping secrets. I’m losing interest quickly because of this

I’m having to take a break....it’s creeping me out totally.

At 38 losing interest fast. why? The Lieutenant is screwing his second in command, is rude to the VIP whose security happens to be his mission When the planet is invaded once in safety he & his VIP run around naked, cavorting. Did I mention the 2Lt gets caught sleeping only in undies & runs around fighting topless - whose military is this? Definitely not one with any semblance to reality. Insulting

Yikes, just realized I haven’t read the first three books in this series! I confused this Kingsley series with another I read. No wonder the names they referred to didn’t ring a bell. I know I read a lot of books but dang I’m not going daft.....thankfully. I was worried there for a minute. I’ll be back after I read the others. 🙄😬

I am fast losing patience with this one....whereas the other books built upon a story this one so far is all sexual I need a little more than that in my romances alien or not.

Sorry to say but so far very boring......yyyyaaaawwwwwwnnnnnn.

So far this boxed set isn’t “Post Apocalyptic”. I just finished book 1 and it’s very good. Perhaps pre-apocalyptic? Will pause because I truly wanted something “Post Apocalyptic”.

The protagonists are a bit naive but it’s a good read.
