i think you could do a very interesting comparison to notes of a crocodile (with many a caveat and i'm sure there are enough other stories that examine society's reactions to sexual minorities through how they react to specific non-human creatures) (anyway, sinisalo wrote iron sky? checks out. what a weird story this has been so far)
