It is much harder to cut a horse loose from a carriage than the author indicates. The horse is attached by three straps on each side. And then there are the thick traces again on each side. The heroine is never going to be able to cut herself free while riding a runaway carriage horse. I’m not faulting the author for never having hitched a horse. I’m faulting her for not taking 5 seconds to look it up.

I am enjoying this as I have the others in the series. But seriously gasoline only lasts about 6 months. How are they still driving around siphoning gas after two years? I’m going to continue to ignore it but seriously, took me about 10 seconds to check.

This is a clusterfuck of bad outcomes so far. Well written though.

Riveting so far.

Don’t know how far I’m in. Not far I expect as I’m listening to it. It’s pretty melancholy right where I’m at and that’s not what I want to listen to right now. So I’m taking a break from it.

Please tell me the hero has to eat some humble pie because I am loathing him on her behalf right now. I hate when the hero gets everything his way.

There isn’t a bigger fan of the Liaden universe right up until the end of I Dare than me. But I’ve struggled with the rest of the series. Too many changes in POV. Just give me one or two characters and tell the story.

Strange but interesting

why is this 35 year old man calling this 23 year old woman girlie? Why? Even during sex. Ick. That's what the 80 year old grizzly mountain man calls a 15 year old girl. Just no. I kinda want to quit reading.

Man this was so going to be a 5 star book until I hit 86 percent. This thing plummeted to a negative star book in a half a page. I’m going to make myself finish it but I don’t want to.

Now I’m fuming. The big strong man teaches her a lesson for her own good. WTF.

Man it was so good but then the middle hit. So basically suddenly she’s in a dress and is an effing wimp. I want to just quit.

Omg the whole first chapter is an info dump.

Contemplating dnf in this one. It was pretty interesting up until the hero and heroine met about halfway through the book. The love story between them is pretty lame. The hero has no discernible personality and keeps thinking misogynistic stuff. And she is a ninny and the timeline is wonky.

Omg so slow.

Gotta admit this one’s a little slow

So boring. Just read a brief flash of action, told after it happened. About a paragraph and a half. then back to knitting and crochet. I do knit and crochet but it is boring as hell to read about

Very tell not show and filled with a lot of unnecessary minutiae.

Interesting premise. Writing so so. Author doesn’t seem to understand what a bastard is. And how the devil did she write this sentence? “The princess’s jaw sagged with fear. She swallowed hard and hastily fixed the necklace on her stiff sister’s neck.” Is there another sister who is floppy? Because that’s the only way this sentence is acceptable in English.

I’m liking this overall. Couple of quibbles but nothing major.

I'm liking this author but it's turning out to be one of the tropes i most dislike: hiding blackmail from her husband

So far so good. Yay for a story set in Portugal, tisk , tisk for errors in the Portuguese phrases tossed in. But this story is making me want some Port.

I know this author writes farce. But she has a weird sentence structure that she repeats on nearly every page. Which wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t make a grating grammar mistake every single time. Who is for people. That is for inanimate objects. Makes me shudder every time.
