Time to DNF this one

Hmmm. Not loving this one so far. H was WAY too much of a rake/manwhore and proud of it. Wish he’d been celibate and had not enjoyed such a debauched lifestyle. Hoping I will eventually like him, but don’t think I would have chosen to read this had I realized what he was like before meeting the h.

While reading in bed w/my husband this morning, I turned and told him how much I love this H and gave him a brief summary of what I've read so far. He started laughing. He said "You're telling me, this guy is a KILLER, but you can overlook that because he's been celibate?!" 🤔☺️. Well...he doesn't kill good people or sell drugs and would never hurt women and children...so, yes. I definitely can 😊

I am loving this H!! A gentleman with a touch of beast hidden under his refined outer layer and who is NOT a manwhore. Woohoo! A h that is confident and smart, but with a bit of a potty mouth...surprisingly, I really like her too. Add a touch of lol moments ~ this is turning out to be a winner so far :)

I love this H. He's made some bad life choices in the past, but is determined to be a better man.

This is sooooooooooo slow. Not enough h/H interaction for me so far. I also really miss having the H's POV. Hoping it starts picking up soon...

H is growing on me again. He's a man that knows how to apologize when he's wrong

H is irritating me. Hate when MC's jump to conclusions and fear/assume the worst. H goes from intimacy w/h and thinking she's all that to thinking he was set up. IMO, felt too much like a betrayal to the h. h didn't deserve that. H trust the h and talk to her w/out jumping to conclusions!

Thought I was going to like this H, but am not right now. He is planning on seducing the h and making her his mistress. Sounds like he's had a # of them already. He knows his mom will start presenting him w/marriageable ow so he has decided he will have to be discreet w/his plans for the h. Ugh. Hate heroes that want to use women as just another piece of meat for their pleasure. Seems dishonorable to me

I was in the mood for an assassin, good bad guy, kind of hero. This one is definitely working for me :)

H: "Nothing will ever hurt you again. I promise you that."

h: "How can you promise that?"...

H: "Because if anyone tries to hurt you, I'll kill them"

I absolutely hate this H. Blackmailing a virgin h to be his whore for a month. And, he looks forward to breaking her. Poor h - she doesn't deserve what's happening to her and her 9 year old brother :(

Hmmmmm. I'm confused... The H states that his people mate for eternity, but a few paragraphs later says that he's coupled with some of the widows. How is that mating for eternity.? I guess maybe they don't marry/mate again, but they will sleep around after the death of their mate? Darn! Not sure if I'm going to buy this book after reading the sample :(

Not starting great. Why do we need to know the H's going to enjoy two serving wenches. One one night, the other the following few nights. And then he'll let them marry om.

I'm finding this to be a beautiful story, albeit sad and slow at times. I am loving the scarred broken hero

Wow. This is turning into an exciting read. It started a little slow or it might have been the writting that took a bit to get into... I am loving this wonderful, slightly broken (suffering from PTSD) H.
