Bar the pretentious tone of the author and the occasional veering-into casual racism, this book is an amazing read so far when you just take in the bare facts

Bar the fact that his views on religion are downright cringeworthy Sam Harris is a fantastic neuroscientist

Clarice Lispector's stories, it seems to me, capture reality through the lens only one who sees it as startlingly unreal.

Shelving Blake for a bit now to return to Lispector, whom I've long neglected.

With all his most significant writings out of the way, I'm going to put Emerson on the back burner for a while to focus on Blake and (come July) Whitman.
