Len som chcela verejne oceniť preklad Pufiňuf (Bumbersnoot). Celkovo to musela byť "sranda" preložiť, dvojku asi budem striedať po slovensky s audio.

Chcela som čosi ľahučké a ochkavé. Už aspoň 5 rokov mám doma tretiu časť, ktorá sa nedočkala prekladu, takže si osviežujem pamäť. Ľúbia sa mi tá povrchná slušnosť, world building (mala by som dočítať Soulless), nenáročný humor, všetky tie šatové opisovačky... 😍

Je pre mňa fascinujúce počúvať o Kingovom živote v minulom storočí a ešte keď to číta on sám?

Je to presne rok, čo už mám Skyward doma - skúšala som to párkrát čítať, ale nikdy som sa nedostala ďalej ako cez úvodné odseky. Teraz som to náhodou otvorila a knihu zatvorila po prológu pomaly s otvorenými ústami. Tých 10 strán som si hovorila, že to bude klišé, jej otec určite zomrie udatne a tak som nejak zabudla, že Sanderson ma tendenciu to subvert the expectations.

Este mi zostava nejaka hodina a pol, konflikt je vyrieseny, byvali kamarati skamarateni a zostava uz zrejme len premiera ich hry. Niektore casti posobia trosku silene (gay-cis-white eeevil character, ktory tvrdi, ze queer society je *PRiLiS eXklUZiVnA*; G's family taking the piss out of her 30+yo cousin with a successful career for not having a bf), ale nieco o tej knihe ma hreje na hrudi, ked som do nej zapocuvana.

Paci sa mi, ze vedlajsie postavy si vedu svoje zivoty, ktore nie su zavisle od deja tociaceho sa okolo MC, a maju vnutorne zivoty, do ktorych uplne nevidime. Akurat keby tam bolo trosku menej on-the-nose uhm symboliky (“jej cast izby je zrkadlovy odraz tej mojej” *o kapitolu dalej* “ja som ako anjel a ona ako diabol”). Inak frenemies to lovers je vzdy tasteful choice.

The narrator does such a good job honestly, the jokes land really well with her. I keep thinking whether the book has autobiographical bits and pieces since at times I feel like the author reflects on her own experience through the MC (as in there’s plot happening and it suddenly triggers an identity revelation and focus shifts on the inner world of MC, freezing the plot for a moment) The pansexuality thing? Too real

It’s a bit frustrating seeing the world of science go back and forth on the same ideas but anyway I’m really enjoying the text - the author’s footnotes and subjective remarks on individual scientists are very entertaining. It’s taking me a lot of time to digest some things (tbf I’m kinda dumb) but I appreciate direct quotes from the works of scientists mentioned.
