I had almost forgotten what it is to read a Houellebecq novel or maybe this one is a bit different. Incredibly erudite, abundant with scientific facts, rich in cultural references, perhaps purposefully researched in detail. Yet vulgar and blunt. Tempted to say nihilistic, but I'd rather trust the author's stance is reflected in the regret felt after the moral wander of his characters and their zeitgeist.
