Page 56, first paragraph, made me laugh out loud - almost guffaw. An inside joke for sure.

I dislike sloppy editing. - the main character is described as sitting in an armchair. Two sentences later they’re described as sitting on a sofa. On the next page, just two paragraphs later, they definitely are described as sitting on a sofa. Bleh!

I tried to read this. I really did! But it just didn’t interest me enough to continue to struggle through the first 50 pages. So, I’ve stopped reading it, I’m done with it. Life is too short to waste time on a book I’m not enjoying.

I am only 8 pages in, and I really like that it was not until page 7 that the murder - which may, or may not be the major topic, who knows yet? - was mentioned. A sign of a confident writer!
