This is not a drill. Bestie wants to read the first book of Malazan for book club. 😍

Burning desire to read this for the Halloween season so I can finally say I’ve read a Chuck Wendig novel.

#PerformativePostApocEra??

I’ve read maybe 35 pages of James Patterson since I restarted the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. Is this an improvement or a problem?

This might be the best of Patterson that I’ve read.

Rereading this because I want to get back into the series and remember liking it enough that I can just reread it instead of hunting down a good recap.

FINALLY.

And another one. One of James Patterson’s favorites of his own books. Apparently the book that gave him the idea of Alex Cross, and also the book he said would make the best movie of his novels. Bet.

👀*

*Don’t judge me, Patterson’s REALLY scratching an itch for me.

Definitely not my favorite of Jimmyboy’s books. I’m also kinda wondering why he felt the need to essentially edit and “rewrite” the book 20 years after it was published… Also, WHY is this man writing a book about immaculate conception???

This book is about Jewish “terrorists” (as James describes them) doing a little bit of Nazi huntin’ around Europe! I’m almost laughing at how it got to this point from page one. Muller of the Gestapo is literally a character in this… I just want to know what made Jimmy think, “Yes, my third book will be about Jewish group fighting Nazis, and it will be great.” Fun as hell, sure. But not so great.

Third James Patterson book in three days. I just really like how short his chapters are and how easy it feels to get through his books.

A one-star review called this long and tedious. It’s 340 pages with relatively short chapters, so… Yeah, we’ll see.

James Patterson, John Grisham, true crime… Did I finally enter my unc era???

Bullard, the world’s funniest and worst judge: “The funerals are tomorrow morning sometime, I think it’s best to wait until they bury those bastards… How about tomorrow afternoon at two?”

It’s giving: “Funeral at 8AM, cash life insurance at 12PM, casino at 2PM.”

Pause. Because why the HELL have I never bothered to read any John Grisham in the past??? This is… wow. Amazing so far.

Promise not to hate me if I become an Alex Cross geek. 🥴

So technically I’m finished with the actual book itself, but there’s like 3 afterwords and update chapters, so I still have about 150 pages left. Regardless, this is one of the best true crime books I’ve read, better than even HELTER SKELTER.

Call me shitty for saying it, but the title has a grammatical error in it and it has lowered my hopes a little. We’ll see how this goes…
