Am I mad about it?

Rough start I'd say. The writing was a bit off for the first few chapters, but I got really invested during Solar's first adventure.

So, I grabbed this one off of TikTok, the author just popped up on my fyp and the premise looked interesting. Hopefully, it lives up to my expectations!

I love being on holiday. And I love this book. Which is not a surprise, as I love most of Sandersons work.

SPOILERS
I'm dying to know how Scardial went from where we left it at the end of Era 2 to being a space fascist superpower.

COSMERE SPOILERS

Fantasy but in space. That's what we're slowly getting in the Cosmere. And it's amazing. Oh and the novella sections in the book are OK to mostly skip. I just read the new sections, which are a paragraph or two at most for each chapter.

Well... This book is expanding on the Sixth of the Dusk novella, which I must say wasn't my favorite. In general I found Sanderson's novellas less enjoyable than his novels. I made the mistake of rereading the novella yesterday in preparation for the book. That was a mistake haha. Sanderson has weaved the novella into the book as flashbacks. He also added a few details to expand the lore. Which is great, I love lore.

Why am I reading this after my computational statistics class mentally scarred me?

This reminds me of Sanderson in a weird way. Probably because I feel about as lost as I felt during the first few chapters of his books. Like. The world is there, fully fledged, but you are discovering it's intricacies bit by bit. Also, contrary to the Farseer trilogy, which was from Fitz's pov, this has many povs.

I feel like I'm in the dark and lost. But this is the only proper way to discover this world right?

The Farseer trilogy just left me with so many holes in the worldbuilding (it was intentional on the authors part and I actually enjoy it) that I desperately want to fill, so I'm just jumping straight into the next one!

I don't have time for reading these days, but I find myself very eager to discover where Fitz's quest will lead him.

The mixed feelings I have about this book... I like the setting, the premice, the characters... But why oh why is everyone in this book blind to Regals machinations? Why do they let him do whatever he wants? Just charge him with treason and be done with it... There are other conflicts that are more serious about pampering to the brat prince.

Well, this is fun. I haven't read any faerie books yet. I like this. Also the first few chapters had me imagining Bambleby as an older, little, short, round and bouncy fellow with a high pitched voice. Turns out he's hot as f***, blond and with immaculate style. And Emily probably understated their relationship, cause they don't seem just friends to me. There's definitely a spark there haha.
