Reading for grad school

This is slow going.

How am I over halfway done? This book is going nowhere fast. Irene is a sheltered, naive brat. Julia is flat because the book has spent more time on Irene. Margaret is also pretty meh. She was more interesting in the tiny glimpses of her as a child.

I’m plodding through and not enjoying this as much as other books she’s written.

I’m beginning to understand why this book is so long: I just read an entire 1/2 page about Louise’s home life, especially her brother. So, this book is padded with filler. And repetition. How many times do I need to be told Self-Reliance is the main house and vice versa?

I’m ready for this to be done. Sweet baby Jesus. Why is this book so long?! Totally unnecessary.

On p. 71 of my ebook, and saw this is 661 pages. I’m already thinking of bailing on this because I’m just not pulled in. I’m trying to figure out what I’m missing that everyone else raved about.

I need the world to pause so I can have time to read this book.
