Reading the last 3 chapters on ecology.
I’ll pick it up again later.

Finished the early presocratics, now I’m starting on Part II with the middle period ones.
Because fragments from each thinker are presented in context of who later cited them, this is proving a nice little introduction to ancient Greek, Roman, and a bit of early Christian thought.

When we look at really good color compositions, ones that shine with inner light, we get a glimpse of the eye of the I, the ground of all being to which our individual experience of self belongs.

I’m now on the ~100pg essay about making color which has the divine quality of inner light.

We’ll see.

Unpacking how early American architectural and urban form follow from political economy.
Reminds me of C. Wright Mills, whose sociological imagination is echoed here in Mumford’s Architectural one.
Really good so far.

Reading at the pace set by the Building Beauty webinar lecture series. It’s 2 chapters a week. I’ll finish this and book 4 by the end of May.
