I could understand why for so many years I couldn’t bring myself to read this book, and now I understand.

This book.. hits so close to home.

*re-reading* I read this whole series in middle school and I don’t think my mind (as a child) truly comprehended the seriousness of all the events in these books. Mind you, this was my favorite author in middle school, and there are so many trigger warnings that a child shouldn't ignore when reading these. My heart is still saddened for these children, but thankful I get to read them again.
