This is like the 4th or 5th time Law and Order has been mentioned. And how are there no fucking cameras in this police station??????

Skimming through this drivel and rolling my eyes at any future mentionings of Christianity in the context of psychics.

Also, this is a fucking PR nightmare that no reality TV show can fix.

And I'm sure this happens, but it is such a severe thing to write about. A cop raping a 5 year old boy.

Pretty much all the drama that happened in the last ten pages has utterly crushed my will to continue this. He was arrested but he is out of jail? Did he post bond? Was he never in jail. What is happening. I just want to skip to them arresting the only obvious person to the readers.

There is literally only 1 person in this story described negatively, and he is starting to fit the profile of the suspect...

But fuck, Ronan cannot keep his fucking mouth shut. He just shouts and "bellows" without any consideration of where he is and who is with him. These type of people disgust me.

Ugh, a fucking performance. None of this is ethical... none of this makes sense.

"DNA doesn't lie." It does, all the fucking time. You'd think as a cop Ronan would know that. That even if the DNA was a 99.99% match, which isn't likely from 7 year old DNA that was definitely not preserved properly, concrete aside, it doesn't mean the results are absolute. Given the fact that no DNA % was given, I can't even say 99.99%. Ronan is so frustrating.

Oh my! They finally mentioned that nothing Tennyson contributes is legally helpful. Nothing he says should be able to get a warrant, let alone be admissible in court. A good DA would tear it apart easily.

How many people have actually made or eaten a tuna casserole? What Jackie says is the realistic thing so far, and it is also the most cliched.

Ronan isn't likable, Tennyson isn't likable. How can I be expected to care?

Trying to explain Ten's history with religion, I THOUGHT HE WAS FROM LOUISIANA, NOT KANSAS.

The process of them uncovering the body. Really, people live streaming it? Police not being able to hide this better? Really, really? Everything about this, really?

And I love how Christians hijack the psychic community. How Tennyson can still be religious, or how his relationship with God works hasn't been explained. Sure, he sees the light, but that doesn't explain away all the previous hypocrisy of Christian practices.

Ronan is a believing Catholic but he even deigned to be a skeptic about psychics? No religion has actual evidence to prove their belief systems. If you are going to believe one but say "I need evidence" for the other, you are a fucking hypocrite. Religions also aren't usually LGBT friendly, though that is just an extra annoyance with this story.

"The department ruled that a clean shot, but I know you killed him in cold blood..." WTF is Ronan's ex saying? This is not up for question. When a cop already has a bullet wound, shooting the person back is 100% justified. Josh just sounds like a fucking moron whose only purpose is to be a dickish antagonistic ex. Even Ten can't believe they dated. WHYYYYYYYYYYY. WTFFFFFFFF

Okay, they have determined a possible location for the body, but how do they get a warrant to look in this place. I point out, again, that psychic information would be dismissed by a judge immediately. They would not be able to get a warrant. This is the problem of using a psychic-detective setting in the real world.

Why does Ronan shout so much? Why does he get so angry? He doesn't have alcohol problems, he has anger problems.
And why would he lose his shield if he can't solve a 7 year old cold case. And is a case even "cold" if it is only 7 years old? It's mentioned in the story all the ways cold cases get solved, poorly I add, but it doesn't explain why this one could cost him his shield.

Truman, the husband of the Carson, the co-owner of the psychic shop, really, just a side character from a previous book, is a better detective than Ronan.
Also, there is no reason for an Internal Affairs investigation during a clearly justified shooting, and there is nothing to suggest that Ronan's alcohol consumption was addictive or impairing his ability to perform his job.

I reiterate that everything Tennyson does screams FRAUD. He barely does anything that I would consider evidence of actual psychic abilities, minus the calm touch, so it makes me shake my head in utter disbelief when Ronan apologizes for "bullying" him. Sure, in the context of the book we KNOW he is real, but only because we are told over and over and not because it shows it.

WHY DID RONAN KISS TEN? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? WHY IS THIS SO POORLY WRITTEN? The sexual tension is actual garbage. This story is officially garbage.

Why call him a fruitcake all the time? Why abandon the camera immediately after one reading? Why take him to your home? This is all so frustrating to read.

I don't want to finish. Ten has every sign of a fake psychic, from the stupid crystals to chakras and auras and all that other holistic nonsense, he just happens to be real in this book. And for Ronan to be such an asshole disbeliever, he is a real open skeptic. He follows along pretty easily with only a bit of verbal protest. The set-up is make me roll my eyes.

References to things in the real world, like actors or TV shows, do not age well, and sometimes the references miss and are annoying. I don't watch GoT so I'm not totally familiar with Jon Snow's appearance or the actor who plays him. I don't watch Medium shows on TLC because I know they are fake. The references put this story in the real world, but a cop turning to a psychic makes it all unbelievable in this setting

In what world does it make sense to sue a cop for wrongful death when the suspect literally shot them and injured them to the point of blacking out first? Then, in what world, do the other cops not support their fellow cop for a justified shooting, support necessary to make it safer for cops in danger in the line of duty. There is wrongful death and there is legitimate fear for safety.

Ahhhhh, just stop mentioning Austin! None of the contrasting between locations works because Austin is probably even more liberal and gay than this place in Washington.

What? People wear watches even if they have cell phones. They are an accessory like anything else.

Listening to Remus's backstory, um, you know Austin is a huge city, right? Tuition is at most $5000 per semester (for Austin), so how are you $64,000 in debt for at most 5 semesters? What? What? What? It all hinges on small town privileges, ridiculous tuition, and literally no support system. Super gay liberal hipster city: Austin?

And Remus Black shouldn't sound like a strange name to people of this age group. 1) Most people learned a little mythology when they were younger and know the story and 2) Remus is a well known fictional character from Harry Potter. So much is said to emphasize that Remus is out of place and different, but so far I can't agree with the characterization. Still, only 3%.

I can't tell if all the characters are just rudely stereotyping Texas, including the character from Texas, or if the author is doing it ignorantly, but I hate it. For instance, why would someone from Texas escape the cowboys and sun? Because we aren't cowboys we're normal people, the new hot football team for the state is the Texans, the sun and heat here sucks, and humidity is hell.

I'm from Austin, Texas and go to University in Texas (the University of Texas at Austin, not Austin University). The number of times Austin/Texas gets mentioned and stereotyped has already driven me crazy. For instance, Remus mentions being an anomaly in Texas because he is Roma, um, Texas is very racially diverse, especially big liberal cities like Austin. It's also super hipster and super LGBT friendly (relatively)

Gina Lopez is a textbook bad cop. She shows no empathy for other people despite being in a job where that should be one of her top personality traits. She's rude, abrasive, and a downright bitch. I assume it's supposed to be funny that she's an over the top ass-hat, but she is just unpleasant and I don't know how anyone can stand her.
