I'm not going back to M/M books, but I'll add some of my old reviews from LJ here.

Fifth story was the worst from all three I've read. I can't wrap my mind over the fact that the tenants keep renting there even though the owners are assholes and their son harassed female tenants and guests all the time.

And then this stupid guy shouted at MC while MC was standing on the edge of the balcony. Didn't it occur to him that shouting would only startle MC and make him lose his balance?

On the fifth story and starting to get irritated by the dog and by the way MC got forced to take care of it while being suspected as a murderer.

I grumbled as I read the fourth story because MC was another angsty man torn between being filial and being gay. The mystery was great though, and I also cried at the end when the truth of those letters was revealed.

The third story actually had a good mystery, but the romance took half of that goodness. The detective thought more about his crush than the case.
The fourth story was a rambling mess. There're more descriptions of the place than the story itself. A story that should be a thriller turned into a boring tl;dr.

Finished the second story. The mystery was pretty weak, and the bad guy kinda handed himself in. The romance level was still acceptable.

Dropped the first story because the background of the first story irritated me so much. Employing drunkard, drug dealer, and irresponsible people?

I hope this one won't disappoint me.

I'm starting to get bored. The case isn't something I like to read, MC gets hard dancing with a woman, and then he suddenly felt there's something between him and an informant he only met once.

2018 was the year when I branched out to Chinese novels (BL and gen) because I suffered MM burnout, and because MM romance has changed into QUILTBAG romance or gay porn. There's a reason why MM romance was named MM romance and not gay lit, and there's a reason why I read MM romance instead of gay lit or any other genres.
Anyway, my book of the year is The King's Avatar, which is a Chinese gen novel.

Fucking BREECH of protocol.

I'm annoyed by the fact that the typos of the first publication were not fixed until now.

2 strikes already. One for not reporting the bully/rapist, and one for succumbing to blackmail. Also, Masa must write an essay just because he steps on the tailed floor, and students also must go to counselor, but the school doesn't know/do anything about Ken bullying Sota.

In book 3: "The hummingbird was dive-bombing the male suspect. For such a small bird, he was exceptionally aggressive." . . . . "Darren had always thought of hummingbirds as cute and harmless, but he got the feeling this one had anger-management issues." . . . . "“Your guide is an angry little shit,” Lammas said."
Did I hope too much again? Because said hummingbird now is one apathetic bird.

I'm not sure whether to continue or not. The blurb hinted that the MC is gonna do something stupid. Again.

I was so eager to read this book because my friend promised me that there're lots of wolf cuddles. But she didn't tell me that the MC was a whiny new adult.
Also, couldn't the doctors tell the difference between a dog bite wound and a wound caused by animal trap?

I'm captivated by the mystery but repulsed by the MC.

Can I have this without the dog? (#｀皿´)

It's been two months since I last read MM romance XD I've been busy with reading Chinese novels and translating one cute danmei (BL) novel I really love.
I guess I'll just shelve some Chinese novels I've read :D

I think this is the first time I read a book where the MC is a court-appointed lawyer and the other MC is a PI who works for him.

I wonder why the so-called agents nowadays seem to get more stupid and can't see what's in front of their face.
