I get its appeal haha

As good as they say and better. That being said man I am looking forward to not having to read this. It is intense and now I need a cozy RomCom about a matchmaking cat or something haha.

Listening to this on audio, which is the way to go

Reading this slowly, trying to get it beyond the oh so good prose and the oh so eesh themes which leave me eesh because eesh - great tale but gosh help me I am looking forward to putting it away because of the theme which is eesh

I got this while searching for Patrick Radden Keefe, who wrote the introduction. It is reigniting my love for short form anthologies in general, the best of the best all in one book.

Currently listening to this on audio, it is incredible and a great voice

Cool point about how alcohol releases oneself from intolerable selfhood

Cool point here about how Dante's Hell did not prevent Christians from acting wacky in the now, and data on alcohol and cigarettes does not prevent regular people from acting in the now with them

Great tale so far. Like Cat Person but a bit more satirical. Though it takes on all the tropes we see all the time, the insight pushes it forward into 5 stars - hope to get through it and give it a review shortly

Listening to this on audio, very good - great reading as well

Oh man this is difficult, but very good

Something about James McBride always brings you in. This is not Historical Fiction, because you are there

Holy wow, this is a satire that makes you think. Hilarious and great tale keeps you reading - en route to a 5 star review

I was not ready for this kind of tale when I first started but holy S now I am

So far this is surpassing my high expectations haha - a few pages in and already getting 5 stars

It starts out as a Nathan Ballingrud tale - ie incredible premise but a focus on cosmically mismatched characters, with the background secondary. Now it is settling into a page turner - regardless incredible

You know what is going to happen, but you can not put it down haha

Great so far - the feel is one we have read in collections like these before - hyperliterate intelligent single 20 something woman navigates the world of a hyperliterate intelligent single 20 something woman - but the talent makes this unique. En route to 5 stars

Great tale - Literary Fiction that keeps you turning the page

This one is short, but intense. Gwendoline can bring characters into existence like no other but still - I am looking forward to getting through with it - still incredible.

Absolutely hilarious. This isn't a twisty domestic thriller - it is a light romantic comedy where everyone is ridiculous - just great in any case - just great

Surprisingly good so far

This book is hitting me in all the right ways - very cool

Just great so far

Straightforward advice, very good so far

Great insight from a unique thinker
