Been a while since I read something(mm) this engaging...

The author's wrong/odd use of the tenses throughout the book is very distracting and disconcerting! Not to mention annoying...I guess I'm being picky...but still...

Reading Lanyon feels like I'd forgotten how to breathe and now I can breathe again...the writing is so fluid and refreshing and beautiful. Am I being overly melodramatic? Perhaps. *shrugs* I think it refutes the reasonable fact about why I don't read Lanyon often. It's 'cos I don't want to become blase and obscenely pampered which may lessen the charm of reading his books. No, I definitely don't want to loose that.;)

Kennedy wrote of DOMA. He concluded that states must be allowed by the federal government to confer "dignity" on same-sex couples if they choose to legalize gay marriage. DOMA "undermines" same-sex marriages in visible ways and "tells those couples, and all the world, that their otherwise valid marriages are unworthy of federal recognition." - Finally! It's good see positivity and equality at last.

I'm finding this to be too archaic and unrealistic... I'm only at chapter 2 and am finding it hard to be invested in the story and characters....will probably end up c-n-f-ing it...

So...Boyd just went bonkers and I feel that Vivienne is actually his stepmother 'cos no mother could be this heartless and blind...It's too extreme to be believable...

Hsin's being an ass and the author just rudely took me out of the universe of the book by making a 19yr old boy talk like a book! 19yr old kids don't talk in such flowery language. It's one of my pet peeves with romance writers. Oh and say hello to-how-I-see-Boyd Boyd.

mmm...I'm finding some of the writing and dialogs terribly naive...People don't talk like the flowery language that some writers are prone to writing...It irks me...just little. Only the intriguing characters are keeping me from cnf-ing this book.

I think I've become a little blasé of reading M/M romance where there's a huge power imbalance or one of the guys has been abused, or shivering and trembling or...ugh you get the idea. So my dear friend-list y'all have a rec for me where i get to read about 2 sexy hot strong guys in a balanced (versatile/reversible role in bed) relationship? And no insta-love/sex too, I love a slow build. :)

That's what happens when I get into reading a book without first checking out the blurb. The consequence is getting stuck reading something that has some of my pet peeves. Oh man! :-\

The only thing driving me to read this book is the curiosity to find out what the blurb promised. Otherwise the writing is just sparse and awkward, i guess...

Generally I try to avoid YA whether it's a romance book or non romance one. But i've decided to give this one a go...let's see what happens...

Why oh why are so many of my friends here on GR reading Special Forces!? It's like tempting me to touch something piping hot when i know i'll get burned badly... :( boohoo!
