This is like the most anticlimactic and uninspired ending I have ever read.

My dear friends, we made it. Almost there.
Part 3 is just pretty much of the same. Same recycled scenes over and over. Maybe some people like pregnancy tropes, but I loathe them. Specially when it's a forced one like in this book.
The writing keeps being atrocious. The guts some have to compare this to Tolkien or Rothfuss. People, inhaling fungi is bad for your health. LOL.

At 83%, almost 1000 pages, and here it is (at last) the plot twist that has fans of the author on the fence. Although I get where they're coming from, I don't think they fully understand how twisted this story is. And the reason why I disagree strongly with the way Senlinyu decided to portray this story.
I'll dive deeper about this on my review. Stay tuned.

You gotta be kidding me that there's people swooning over this guy Ferron. C'mon. He's a huge walking red flag. He's super controlling and hella possessive. How is this supposed to be romantic? The world's gone mad.

I'm kinda side eyeing the people falling for these characters. No shade. But, the overly possessive broody alpha male is kinda cliche at this point. Fuc####, saying "you're mine" like a psycho, and literally killing innocent people to "keep the FMC safe"....are walking red flags to me.

At 65% (almost 810 pages), and given recent events, I think I'm starting to get the whole picture about this story, and I'm not liking it one bit, how it tries to play with your mind, making up excuses to justify what's unjustifiable.
Someone's past traumas doesn't give them free pass to harm others. Just my two tips.

This world makes less and less sense each turning of the page. Which time period is this supposed to be set? There are cars, and photo cameras, they know how to make plasma transfusions and complex surgeries too, they even have bombs. And yet they go around gear up in steel armor and wielding blades and knives. Make it make sense, pleaseeeee.

It's taking me forever to end this book, 'cause it's the most boring s### I've ever read. It's been 700 pages and I keep on reading the same scenes. Part 2 is Helena going from the Headquarters to the Outpost and coming from the Outpost to the Headquarters. No plot, no nothing. I've read like 400 pages of the same bloody scene. I'm exhausted. How, how, this crap has 4.60 rating in here?

Why some authors have a virgin fetish? What's the need to make the FMC a virgin and the MMC the only man she's ever known sexually?
To the people claiming this is not romantasy...it might be a little darker (kinda) than your usual romantasy, but this is technically a romantasy. It plays on the same tropes (he's training her, for God's sake).
It's so trashy it hurts. Sorry not sorry.

It's been like 50 chapters and still Helena is going to the Outpost. Gotta give it to this girl persistence.

For a book supposedly about...what was it? Oh, yeah, "the devastating consequences of war", it surely focuses a bit too much on the relationship between two characters.
Already passed the scene that has everyone "screaming, crying, throwing up", and felt nothing.
If a guy came to me and said "your like a rose in a graveyard", I'd punch him in the face. LOL.

What an interesting world. They have electric torches, but no one has figure out how to artificially inseminate a woman.

It's just like iterations of the same two scenes on repeat.
And the telling over showing is getting on my nerves. Almost every single thing that could be relevant happens offstage. I'm sorry, but to me, that's not good writing. It's the kind of mistake aspiring writers make.

Well, this qualifies as trigger warning too. But the MMC hits the FMC and hurts her. He's also verbally violent to her.
I fail to understand how this is life changing or heartbreaking. Or how this is supposed to be...

If the heavy exposition, the dense and messed up worldbuilding, the illogical magic system, the romanticized rape and the forced pregnancy weren't torture enough, now I have to deal with these made up words.

On a more serious note, without spoiling too much: it's the kind of stuff that works well as a fanfic. Certain tropes, emotional punches, melodrama... it's right up your alley, you'll be fine.
But if soap opera drama level isn't your thing, it might be better to stay away from it.

Quick update, since this is important, because I know for sure that a lot of readers hate this particular trope, which is forced pregnancy.

Part 1 completed. Already in part 2. Just reached the part where a character gifts the FMC with a sweater in the most Molly Weasley's way.
This might be a personal opinion, but I find stuff like this to be deeply unethical to the authors of the original material fanfic takes inspiration from.
Even if it has been reworked, just to no avoid copyright infringement, I still can see through the seams.

I promised to keep you all updated on trigger warnings, so here I am.
So far, I've counted three scenes of sexual assault/rape, ocurring between chapters 18/19.
Keep this in mind, if stuff like this triggers you. Whatever you decide it's up to you. Read with caution, or simply stay away from this.
It's too soon to say if it's romanticized or not, but still that doesn't change the fact that the FMC gets SA.

Also, the world-building is so messed up, for God's sake. Sol, lumen, lumithia, resonance, metals.....wtf? I'm still trying to figure out what Sanderson's Mistborn hemalurgy has to do with all this?

10% in and I'm shocked. Shocked at who the hell greenlit this at Del Rey and Penguin Random House. Probably the worst written book I've ever read in my life.
Also, incredible boring. Besides being tortured, nothing of importance happens. It's just info dump after info dump.
Some books are slow, but still they are engaging. So far, this one's just a depressive snoozefest.
