Nope. That one part they should have removed to make this story more palatable, and they kept it. As someone who have read The Handmaid´s Tale, and understood what Margaret Atwood was trying to say with that, I failed to understand what was the author´s intention to go with such scenes.

Honestly, I don´t know. I was today years old when I found out that stuff like this existed. And that people were willing to read it and even buy it. It´s not my cup of tea, and actually, this is my first time reading a book like this. I could say that I´m making this for scientific purposes, because I just want to understand. 😆
I promised myself I wouldn´t shade people for their kinks, but it´s one of those things that I´m genuinely curious about. I´ve grown in a place where women we´re told from little not to go to certain places alone, to carry a pepper spray in your hand, and to dress simple and not wear too much make up just to not drawn attention. It´s a reality we sadly live in, so I´m having a hard time understanding what makes someone fantasizing about being SA. But what I find even harder to understand is how could a woman be forgiving to her victimizer, or even fall in love or start a relationship with such a person. That it´s what this twisted book is actually trying to do. Making up excuses for a mass murderer and a rapist. I´m gonna take a guess that the reason why people wasn´t cheering for Voldemort was because he was ugly and not because he was, you know, bad.
